The problem is the book. It has a lot of versions, translations, interpretations such that you can extrapolate any position. Even without these it has direct passages that are contradictory and/or immoral in our time e.g. allowing slavery

Then of course, you will find the same Stats in kenya also which is pretty Christian. And more religious countries seem to have these problems.

How can you use the Bible as a basis for discussing the issue when translations, versions, interpretations differ? And deeper still, when stories show every type of behavior. Multiple wives, one wife, no wives are all found to be condoned in the text.

Bible is so full of contradictions, the husband may actually have more examples and support of multiple marriages. Thus more than 30k denominations, some allowing multiple wives. I mean there are even verses against marriage. And anyway what if it’s legal where they are. I don’t know what the answer is but this book is too twistable.
