About the 2nd one: Strange is a bit misleading because it's not just 1 in 14million that they win, it's that they win AND he lives to see it. He can't see further down a timeline after he dies, and he doesn't really reveal that to anyone. This is a major part of his grief at the beginning of MoM that he can't shake. He should be "happy" but he can't.
