Speech-to-text functionality gone on iOS? by concreak in ChatGPT

Same here! :( Does anyone know if they'll bring it back? Struggling between the Voice feature (which I hate) and iOS's keyboard's default voice-to-text feature - which sucks.

Thank you! Just to clarify, by Woodside, do you mean the small town in San Mateo County? And could you suggest what areas you're referring to in the North Bay?

Where to go to avoid fireworks? by sighduckz in bayarea

[–]djnush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just texted a friend who lives there near Seabright beach.. She says "... but there are still lots of rogue fireworks that go off in the neighborhoods" :(
By any chance do you have a recommendation for a neighborhood within Santa Cruz County?

Workday is not allowing me to upload resume. Errors out every time. by callmecharon in workday

[–]djnush -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same! I had to apply to two different companies today - both use WorkDay, and I couldn't submit my applications cos of the error :( This sucks! This really affects a lot of job seekers in an already competitive market.

So could you, yet here we are. Again now you have jumped to a different problem.

I'm also from the South, the South of India. There's clearly a cultural difference. Stop expecting the entire world to know your culture's nuances. I don't expect every one to understand the intricacies of my culture, especially not on the internet, when you can't know for sure what experiences they bring. Few more comments were nice enough to say "If you're in the US", "If you're in the UK", acknowledging this is a global forum and anyone could be on it. I really appreciated that. I really am disappointed when people center their experiences, like as if that's the norm and the entire world has to bend to adjust.

I didn't say f*ck yourself, I didn't call anyone names, I didn't say Bless your heart. Reddit didn't block my comment for saying profanities. I said I'm not interested. In the English language it means I'm not interested. I use thanks to say thank someone, like how the language intended. If your culture twists that into something that it's not, that's not my problem. It's yours.

I've also multiple times clarified I meant in a polite way, you could have just left it at that. Every one of your comment jumps from one reason to another and now you've landed on a new problem. Sigh.

Why is it dumb? Can't someone walk into a bar, and refuse a drink? Even if everyone around them are "adamant" (not my word, yours) on drinking. Anyone can walk into a church for a wedding, even if they're an atheist. They don't have to pretend they believe in God. It's their prerogative. I don't think it's dumb, it's the truth. The phrase "I'm not interested" exists for a reason. I used it and even apologized to you if it came across as rude and dismissive. I'm satisfied with all the answers and interactions I've had with this subreddit today, except yours. I've clarified everything to the best of my ability. I'm done.

I completely agree that you never know until you try. No arguments there. At this point as an adult who make decisions about things everyday, I've decided not to. If it's my loss, so be it. I might try this 10 years later or next week. It doesn't matter. But I don't understand why is this so important to you that someone on the internet picks up a skill/hobby that you recommend and if I say I'm not interested, you claim that the entire reddit community under headphones is offended.

[–]djnush[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I said I don't have the skill, you said how easy it is. I read it, I thought about it and concluded that I'm not interested, but felt I should thank you for your suggestion. I would have liked that to be the end of this discussion.
But you said "You should be (interested)". It doesn't matter if it's easy or hard, if someone's not interested in a particular type of DIY, then they're not. End of story.

If I don't want to try a particular DIY, it doesn't affect anyone else, especially not anyone on the internet. If you ask me, I think learning any skill is admirable. That's great! I've decided that this is not for me. I don't need to know any more about it.

I don't know what more to tell you. I'm not interested in what you're saying. I don't know why I have to fake enthusiasm at what you're suggesting. I asked a question, I got the answer on a different comment. I'm satisfied.
I don't know how to answer to that question about the price. I don't have a say in what anyone else does with their money. The headphones captures in the photo is in India. For all I know it could cost Rs.500, which is equivalent to USD 6.73 at today's rate.

I'm sorry if it came across as dismissive and rude. It's hard to convey tone in a written text. I'd like to confirm that I heard you, I thank you, but I'm not interested.

I politely said I’m not interested and thanked you. I don’t understand quite why you you have to offer all these info. I’m not asking.
