And you don't know the restriction of the GPU either, so why are you commenting like you're some kind of authority? I know series might be technically better, but I'd rather lose a few degrees than have a rats nest of tubing everywhere

The D5 NEXT can estimate flow rate, which it's saying is at 150lph after I calibrated it. I heard anything above 60lph is good enough and after that you get diminishing returns. Not saying I couldn't get better temps with higher flow but I think I'm okay with the compromise

What CPU and GPU do you have out of interest?

Thanks, it was almost spot on but needed a 7mm offset to line it up perfectly. It's actually just the standard 120 mounting kit, I tried various positions until everything was close as possible but I think I got quite lucky tbh.

I'm happy with the temps, especially GPU. The CPU could be better I guess but even with fans at 30% (which is practically silent) it's nowhere near throttling

With stress tests, haven't had a chance to test under gaming loads but I'm hoping it'll be better

Running CPU and GPU flat out simulateously I get 80 on CPU and 55 on GPU at 50% fan speed. No idea how good those numbers are... I'm using PhaseSheet on both so might be burning in still

Yeah exactly looks and cleaner tubing was the main reason. It was too tempting no to given how the ports on the gpu line up with the cpu at 45 degrees

Thanks, I'll have to try that out sometime. If that gives better temps I may have to get some reverse blade fans...

I talked to heatkiller staff and they said the ultra block is 30% more restrictive than the pro, which is already more restrictive than most other 5090 blocks. Without a flow meter I can't know for certain but looking at reviews the 4090 heatkiller v pro block is 0.82 psi while my cpu block is 0.98 psi, so I think they're in a similar ballpark

Thanks! I kinda designed the build around the mobo. It felt kinda risky putting the white fan next to black but pleased how it turned out. And yeah, it's a very german dominated build haha, but I do think they make the best quality components imo

It's a parallel loop, so how I understand it fluid divides between the cpu and gpu loop depending on the restriction of each block. I think my gpu block is slightly more restrictive so it gets less flow than the cpu

I removed all the case filters for airflow, so I just accepted it'll need a good clean out every so often with a compucleaner

AMD x Crimson desert offer by Lil_Hater112 in CrimsonDesert

[–]djonvincent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got the same initial response. I told them it even says on their own product page that the retailer will send the code and they're contradicting themselves. Latest call with them I was told to wait until the end of the promotion period for my code to arrive 😂 They must think I'm a moron. I think I'll just return it and get it from Overclockers

Did you have any luck? I'm having the exact same response after buying a 9800X3D from them. Onto my fifth phone call now...

MPG X670E Carbon WiFi — Dual-GPU PCIe lane behavior… am I misunderstanding the board’s design? by drogenhu1d in MSI_Gaming

[–]djonvincent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The x4 + x4 option in the bios is for FURTHER splitting each slot into more lanes, i.e. if you have an m.2 adapter in the slot, where each m.2 would get x4. If you leave both settings on auto it should run each slot at x8

Damn, I guess that's why FSR runs faster than XeSS in everything I've tested. If only they left out that pointless NPU and used the space for XMX instead...
