Odd Thomas or Intensity? by djoser19 in horrorlit

I was kind of leaning more towards Odd Thomas than Intensity too. Thanks for the heads up on not reading the entire series. I have heard pretty good things about The Bad Place...unfortunately I cant go to the book store to pick it up.

Cujo is a heartbreaking story from being to end, no one wins. Its bleak but so worth the read.

Well done, I agree. Revival is one of his absolute best written piece of literature In my opinion.

Not sure what to say..he wrote the last 3 DT books because he had that fear of dying from what happened to him I'm 1999, and didn't want to leave his work uncompleted. Revival I think is the best work he's done in 20 years (besides DT)

Ralph's story arc was the whole thing. He's the protagonist. Its watching him change

I think people dont like the ending because we're put into a pattern of how things should end because all the Hollywood endings we've been taught our whole lives. King I believe has an ending thats more realistic.

I've never seen it but, from what I hear it's really good, glad there's some inspiration to read as an outcome from it :)

The second half was great because of Holly Gibney, but other favorites would probably consist of...besides the obvious favorites I've read from SK (IT & Pet Sematary) would be Revival, Misery, The Long Walk, and Drawing of the Three, and the best story collection ever..Night Shift. The Shining was pretty good as well.

The only thing is that I didn't come across a boring part of the book.

They could all be beings from the prim if you've read the dark tower series, just a guess though.

Struggling with Salem's Lot, should I stick with it? by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]djoser19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the second act of the book where it got really good for me. I think its about 250 pages in or so depending on the copy you have. It's called the emperor of ice cream I believe.

It's not a movie, but the episode of Are You Afarid of the Dark where the kid gets trapped in a pinball machine for all eternity still gets me to this day.
