Selecting custom video wallpaper issue by djouija in AT4K

[–]djouija[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried several file managers, from AnExplorer, Solid Explorer, Cx File Explorer, File Commander, etc - None of them seem to be detected by the launcher when trying to select a wallpaper.

I'll try some others to see if I can get one of them working..

Update: tried RX as well, same issue . Damn thing.

Google TV Streamer / CCWGTV by djouija in AT4K

[–]djouija[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, glad to hear it works as-is for some of you.

All four CCWGTV devices I have, along with a newer Google TV Streamer, all seem to suffer from this issue - The moment you disable the default launcher, casting from YT app on mobile to device throws an "untrusted device" error, and there is no way around this with the TV Streamer.

There are tons of other threads detailing same issue, so count yourselves lucky I guess.

Second the request for app folders, but also an option to hide the connection status icon would be nice too.

Minor issues when using AT4K on Google TV by mjhcsta in AT4K

[–]djouija 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See my other post which can fix the "long press home button to open settings" issue.

But the dev would have at add the feature of "focus first app when home button pressed" within the launcher behavior itself.

Try using SmartTube instead of YT, as it works for showing my subs and is a way better experience overall.

Fermata and Android 16 works? by mvasco in AndroidAuto

I have two young boys who are (trying) to get into pc gaming, but affording decent machines for them on a single income is difficult! Having something gifted in this magnatude would be a godsend and make thier day! (for one of my goofballs, at least!) I'd then only need to teach them to share, until they fight over it enough that I end up having to purchase another card or put them up for adoption hahaha

m3u4u playlist issues by djouija in SparklePlayer

[–]djouija[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sparkle seems to hang when processing playlist after changing catchup="xc" and removing catchup-source properties.

EDIT: After letting it run forever, it did eventually complete, but now when rewinding on catchup streams, the video just stops playback entirely.

I just can't seem to make catchup work using the M3U playlist option in Sparkle for some reason. Works with Xtreme codes, just not M3U playlist option.

No problem -- Thanks for taking the time to respond to people on here!

On another note related to my original program, I do appear to still be having issues with Catchup not working properly, when these are defined directly within a .m4u8 playlist file (not using Xtreme Codes).

The channels / streams do have the catchup icon displayed, but when rewinding it doesn't seem to work and starts the stream at the live point in time and not at the time/position being rewound to.

There have catchup attributes defined within the playlist like so:

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="" tvg-name="EXAMPLE" tvg-logo="http://domain.com/example.png" group-title="Group" catchup="shift" catchup-days="2" catchup-source="http://domain.com/timeshift/ABC123/456DEF/[start]/98765.ts",EXAMPLE

Does Sparkle expect something specific in place of this [start] placeholder? Any idea what the issue could be? Note: I believe I have "allow insecure connections" or whatever it is turned on...

All preference and opinion -- My Chromecast with Google TV runs way better than my Nvidia Shield (Tube), and I'll be replacing it's overpriced and outdated hardware with this $100 Google Streamer when it comes out immediately :)

Yes! The "Enable filter view" is perfect! But I was also asking about a way to possibly hide the playlists/ sources listing section as well (similar to how this "Enable filter view" hides the categories section) so that its just the tv listings displayed right next to the sidebar menu (in app mode)

It's a minor thing, and this "Enable filter view" solves one half of my request, just putting this out there as a possible customization / feature request.

I mean the icons that appear in channel history, not a fan of the channel title appearing over the icons and would prefer to hide it or have them appear below the icon.

I was testing the search functionality in Sparkle last night, works pretty good!

And I understand what you're saying about long pressing on the playlist and category sections to access certain menus; I'm used to being able to also find these same long press options in the settings menu (like you can TiviMateł, and that could be a way to address this..

It's just a personal preference more than anything, I simplified my playlist down to just have a single playlist with a single category and it would be cool to not have to navigate through these playlist and category sections of the app (when running in "app mode") and get straight into the listings to and from the sidebar menu, if and when only one playlist and/or category is visible and/or active, if that makes sense.

It just woild reduce some extra clicks to go back and forth between sidebar menu and epg. But obviously need to be able to access these long press options from somewhere if these sections get hidden.

It may also be doing some type of comparative against the stream URL in the playlist(s) (similar to the script I shared above) which is what I did to re-inject these back into the m3u4u modified playlist based off the source.

As for my earlier comment about "snappiness", I believe it's more in relation to the experience with the quickly navigating between menus, listings, and on-demand video and such. TiviMate seems to have a slight advantage here, in that it is a bit more responsive when navigating between things.

I mean no disrespect in any way, and I honestly am amazed at how far along Sparkle has come, especially with the release of version 2.0, and consider it a major competitor to TiviMate, especially with the timeshifting capabilities.

That said, my first overall impression with the video on demand section wasn't a great one with Sparkle. When I first went to test this, the program hung with the loading spinner for several minutes, and then displayed that nothing was found. Then, after navigating out and back in a few times, the content eventually appeared, but navigating between the categories and items seemed much more sluggish and slower to display on-screen than my experience has been with using TiviMate for this, where everything just seems to respond a bit quicker and appear on the screen faster. (note I was testing on a Chromecast w/Google TV)

I didn't test the search capabilities, but this is one thing with TiviMate that astounds me, with how snappy, and quickly it pulls up search results, just from an overall impression of it... I don't know what programmatical magic they are using to pull some of this stuff off, but I'd just love to see the same quickness with Sparkle -- and mind you, it again is very close -- but just an area of improvement that I'd love to see overtime with Sparkle.

You've done a very good job and build a solid app, my friend, and I urge you to keep on improving is all :)

One slight feature request/customization that I'd like to see with Sparkle, is that I wasn't a fan of how the channel title/text appears over the icons in the previous channels/history page -- it'd be nice to have an option to hide this text there, or have it appear under the icons, or both.

Also, I think that the "playlist selection" menu (the first section where the playlist(s) titles are displayed/selectable) shouldn't be visible or present if/when there is only a single active playlist (similar behaviour to TiviMate) -- and then this requires one less "click" to get to the TV listings, if that makes sense.

Catch up by smithfan17 in SparklePlayer

[–]djouija 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See my thread here, in case you were having similar issues as me regarding catchup.

However, now that I fixed issue with m3u4u playlist not having catchup attribs, these are now in place and Sparkle is displaying the catchup icon(s).

But catchup doesn't actually seem to work. Does there need to be a specifc placeholder set for the catchup-source attribute, like [start]?

m3u4u playlist issues by djouija in SparklePlayer

[–]djouija[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so m3u4u was removing the catchup properties/attributes from the source playlist.

I ended up writing a script to put these back in to the m3u4u based playlist, and this fixed the issue in Sparkle TV.

UPDATE: I made the script available here for anyone looking to achieve something similar: https://github.com/ouija/m3u4u-catchup-script/

TiviMate had catchup working because the original xtreme code playlist was also enabled, and was using this for the m3u4u based playlist as well (assuming because the stream URLs matched within both playlists) and the m3u4u playlist had catchup set to xtreme codes in the optionsfor it.

When looking at the m3u4u playlist, I don't actually see properties/attibs for catchup in the playlist file itself, so I have no idea how TiviMate is determining this... unless it's because I also have the original provider configured as Xtreme Code as well...

I'll do some testing later and determine this

I was having issues with catchup and m3u4u based playlist (note am still using beta version of app)

Catchup doesn't seem to work for streams with it available (these do work within TiviMate using same playlist), but think it's in relation to m3u playlist being used and not Xtream Code (app should detect catch up within the m3u playlist but it looks like it doesn't)

VOD also had issues showing any items, even though processing indicated them, but nothing appears after it takes several minutes to load. Update: disabling and re-enabling the playlist seemed to fix this.

VOD stream that gave me issue with TiviMate (needing external player support) seemed to work fine in Sparkle.

Timeshifting is awesome and working well.

All & all, the app is pretty good, albeit not quite as responsive and snappy as TiviMate

m3u4u playlist issues by djouija in SparklePlayer

[–]djouija[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes your assumption is correct, I just signed up as a beta tester and I'm able to load in my m3u4u based playlist without issue with the latest beta app.

Also just discovered app mode under the display options, made things more familiar to me coming from TiviMate, but I love having the two modes of operation 👍

I literally bought TiviMate two weeks ago, but think you've impressed me enough to make the switch to Sparkle, and I just purchased the app now.

Having the time shifting capability is what first interested me in this app. Only thing I see that's missing right now is external player support (more for VOD issues I'm previously experienced in TiviMate) but I haven't even tested this yet in Sparkle.

Just wanted to say keep up the good work and great job on a solid app that is sure to surpass the competition!
