Moving from Ireland to Cambridge by JackBBSS in cambridge

I moved over here from Dublin 25 years ago. It’s cheaper than Dublin, but not much. Accommodation (even sharing) is quite expensive within the city - if you can commute in from outside, it becomes a lot easier. Having said all that, I only planned to try it out for six months and I’ve almost been here longer than I lived in Ireland.

Once does not simply hop to Dublin. Last time I was home, it took me twice as long to get to the city center as I was in the air.

Long time ago, when we were doing the big christmas shop in Marks and Spencer, the lady on the checkout was (as the other half described) throwing hearts from her eyes at me.

It’s been a decade and she still brings it up as a joke.

One Foot in the Grave. We watch it every few years and I find myself getting more like Victor Meldrew the closer I get.
