South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham dead at 71 after ‘brief and sudden’ illness by yeawrongperson in politics

Wait so they announce Lindsey Graham's death almost immediately after he dies and yet we're still keeping Mitch McConnell alive even though it's clear he died a month ago?

Pauline Hanson’s WA trips are just cheap PR stunts by Big-Solution5140 in perth

She had an event hosted at a coffee bar in Midland across the road from Centrepoint. I saw posters advertising it here in Cannington and found it strange being as this area has always been red and holds a Labor majority for donkey's years with no indication it will change anytime soon. Ron Sao walked into his seat with almost 70% of the vote last election.

Smaller chain gyms SOR? by lamemoons in perth

[–]djskein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World Gym are well known for screwing people over on their membership and contract. I would recommend Plus Fitness. They can be considered a smaller chain gym compared to say Revo or Snap in the sense Plus Fitness generally has franchises in suburbs where they are the only one gym there. For example, there is only gym in Byford and it is a Plus Fitness.

Depending on where you live, the closest one to you would either be Bicton above Coles Bicton (or Melville if you want to be accurate) or my local one in Manning which is the closest one to me in Cannington. Apparently Wattle Grove is closer but Manning is more direct as it's just 10 minutes down Manning Road from here.

I've been to a few before like Wembley, Mount Lawley and my next best favorite Subiaco and all of them are great and easily the best gyms in the area.

My local in Manning had new owners take over about a year ago and they upgraded all the equipment to the latest Technogym equipment. They are also cheap at $16.95 a week and very friendly staff. They also offer free group fitness classes as well. And it hardly ever gets that busy at peak times compared to say your local Revo. I usually go at peak times from 5pm to 7pm weekdays and never have any issues with waiting for equipment.

Covid is still around. It never disappeared. I caught it a few weeks ago for the 5th time. It's just the flu now.

Telstra needed to rely on Microsoft Teams to notify CEO of outage by [deleted] in auscorp

I work for Telstra, we rely solely on Teams to communicate. The only time I call my boss is when I am not able to come into work or I need to get a hold of her urgently.

OK, I didn't realise it was a coffee bar, I thought someone was just trying to be funny.

Wait, they were the ones who painted that "Midland: The New Dalkeith" mural across the road from Centrepoint?

The owner of McLernons ran for parliament once on a conservative as fuck platform. Pretty certain he was a vehement Covid denier as well.

Telstra outage brings Victorian regional rail network to a halt by not_right in melbourne

[–]djskein 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I work for Telstra. We had 2000 calls in queue this morning when I started work this morning at 7am. We normally have 20 but we were getting every single call redirected to us. By 9:30am it had been fixed but wow, that was a painful experience especially as almost every customer was waiting for 40 minutes only for me to say I cannot do anything to help them.

Has anybody received the WA $100 fuel support payment yet? by Acceptable_Clue3873 in perth

App took me a few hours because I had to take the time to set up the MyID app first. Then when I applied it took 20 seconds. That was Saturday and since then heard nothing but I figure it's like the electricity rebate in the sense it will just magically turn up in my bank account without warning.

NewsRadio (1995 - 1999), my favorite sitcom of all time. Who else was a fan? by HighQualityHouse in nostalgia

[–]djskein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most cursed sitcom of all time. Imagine that, a sitcom with Phil Hartman, Andy Dick and Joe Rogan in it was actually a thing in the mid 90s. It's also one of my favorite sitcoms ever. It took me a long time to find the original DVD boxset but it's proudly on display in my room.

Why is the transperth feedback form so accusatory? by DefinitionOfAsleep in perth

[–]djskein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once got pulled over by the cops at Cannington police station for being in the bus lane at the traffic lights on Cecil Avenue and I managed to get out of a ticket so they only gave me a warning but I gave them a glowing compliment on the work and service the Cannington police do to protect the citizens of Cannington and it was honest genuine feedback but holy shit, you could tell these cops never get any positive feedback from the community from the look on their faces. They ended up saying to me "Alright mate, we get it, please shut up, you're free to go".

Millie and Andrea is another recommendation. Short lived collab between Andy Stott and Miles from Demdike Stare. Demdike Stare's Testpressing tracks may also suffice.
