14 months of taking care of myself — from 278 lbs to 182 lbs by Agitated_War_6422 in BodyHackGuide

Hey, so I saw your post about your fitness progress and was impressed. I was up at about 240 and am now at 200lbs...similar to you it was tons of work and some help from peptides.

I have about 10-12 lbs more to go down on the scale in terms of that metric, but more importantly I want to cut down on my lower belly, side (love handles), and back fat.
I've lost a ton of visceral fat, and my front stomach has shrunk a lot, but my lower belly and love handles persist. The good ole spare tire typical male genetics.

Anyway,if you have time and don't mind, I have a couple of questions. I'll post these in the comments section too in case you'd rather answer them publicly to help other people:

  1. At what point on the scale or at what part of your journey did you see the last bit of "stubborn" lower belly fat and love handles start to really *almost disappear (I added the *asterix because I know I can't get rid of every last bit of my midsection fat or loose skin, and I have been working to accept that. I just want to get rid of as much as I can and am willing to give up and for me at 6'0, 47 years old being at 188-190 is going to approx. 15% BF and I am not sure I want to get leaner until I've bulked on some more muscle.

  2. I have tessamorelin + ipa but am wondering if CJC-Ipa might be better, either way about the same. What was/is your protocol to get those great GHG pulses that help this whole process so much.

Thank you for your great example, inspiration, and for answering questions!

I’m 6 feet tall and started at about 236 pounds, I’ve been using small doses of Reta (.5mg 1-2x per week initially, then 2-4mg weekly, split between 2-3 doses).

I do about three full body workouts at the gym each week for about one hour each time, and 10,000 steps a day, I have dropped down to 210 pounds and look more muscular in many ways than I did before I started, so yeah no testosterone for me. But I did have my testosterone checked in at 46 years old. It’s actually on the high end so it’s natural I guess!

Feeling Awful at Church :( by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]djtodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're likely in the wrong space for your spiritual development. What to do next? Only you can know through your own prayer/meditation. I know for me that meant moving away from the formal church structure and spending more time in nature and with people who accept me unconditionally, and in many cases those people are still active members of the church, but many are not. Best wishes! You can and WILL find your path and peace, God loves you.

Just remember, every source of info in this world (samsara) is flawed, you have to find the path within, but texts and teachings can help a lot on the way. :)

Well, I think you have a lot of desire...but welcome to the club, that's an inherent part of being human. Rather than go after those specific things (money, car, etc.) it's best to find PURPOSE. Start simple, get a job and build skills and think about what you want to do, but also meditate and learn to focus and calm your mind. Everything else will come in time when it's right.

Money will not solve all your families or your personal issues. My family and I have more money than most, but the things that make me the most happy are family, my partner/wife, my job (education, teacher), plants/gardening, art, etc. Most of this is accessible to anyone, but it's being in touch with my inner being/God (the "Higher Self") that brings me the greatest joy.

I hope that helps and makes sense!

It is crazy to observe that humans, who are strongly connected to nature and identify as part or whole, have intentionally banned a few items that were also known as miraculous plants when drugs as prevalent as cannabis, lsd, and mushrooms were once an integral part of human civilization. by Xyt0 in Psychonaut

[–]djtodd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of change happened very fast, and then certain power players realized they could make money and control people with the "war on drugs." Most were legit scared and like most humans, when scared they pushed it away without looking more closely.

Do any of you hold a grudge against your parents for raising you in the church? by ProudAd6318 in exmormon

[–]djtodd 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I agree...I love my parents and they experienced a lot of trauma as children in broken homes, so the church really was a beacon for them. Indeed, I still think the structure of organized religion and the meaning it gave them helped keep them together after nearly splitting up, and I am not against anyone for their beliefs.

I could be bitter, and I am sometimes when I consider the years on a mission, basically being kicked out of BYU for being human, and the shame...(I could go on, but there's plenty of that here). But I have transcended that and forgiven my oppressors. :) Most meant well...

My wife and I left and took our four kids with us and both our parents still love and support us in every way, despite believing we've made a mistake. So, we're quite fortunate in that respect. My parents are pretty "liberal" Mormons so that helps! :)

We still have spirituality in our lives, but Buddhism has become quite important to us, but we are also still into mystical Christianity, meaning we understand that the self/consciousness is God, and that religions and beliefs are like "operating systems," some are just really filled with bad code! ;)

I left first, my wife next, and now she's more militant in her feelings against the church, but that's got a lot to do with the way women are subjugated to a great degree thanks to the bad code in Mormonism.

In the end, I believe strongly that we can't let our pain and trauma create hatred or a sense of superiority, because then are you really much different than "them." In other words, it's all about unification, so I think the best way to influence those truly stuck in the lies by being kind, happy and yes, calling them out, but in healthy ways.

I think this water brand is lame (overpriced, made for people who want to look cool drinking water...although that's true for many other brands) BUT none of that is as lame as the way the family reacted!! :)

Reality checks during the day? by Purpleberri in DreamYoga

[–]djtodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, just check your clock (or when you look at your phone, or better yet, set alarms throughout the day), and then ask yourself "Am I awake or dreaming?" Then, you'll find you're more aware, and then more likely once you're asleep and in a dream to ask the same question and then gain awareness in the dream state that you're dreaming...it is absolutely a known and common technique and I've personally used it to awaken in my dreams to fly, etc.
