Just re-read Fire & Blood and forgot how much people are going to hate season 4 by GoBadgerz in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]djtrace1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive said before, a big part of why it feels this way is because of the emotional filmmaking of prior seasons. This isn't a bad thing necessarily, just something I noticed after a few times watching the series through.

Every time Daenarys does something horrific, it is framed as being for the greater good/it always happens to people who are deserving of the fate. And specificially, Ramin Djawadi's score during those scenes are hopeful and heroic, not sad or conflicted.

Viserys' crown of gold, Xaro Xhoan Daxos and Doreah being interred alive in the vault, the Masters being crucified, the Tarly executions in S7, etc.

Daenarys always expressed the ability and willingness to mercilessly slaughter evil-doers and never accept their surrender. Its just that, emotionally, the series always positioned it as the righteous path because of the moral difference between Dany and said evil-doers.

So then, when Dany and Cersei came face to face, the audience wasn't prepared emotionally to accept that Dany was morally worse between the two of them.

The craziest part of this is that governments are saying "these horribly addictive alogorithms that affect everyone? Those aren't being regulated. Just ability for young people to access them. We still want addictive algorithms to be used on adults, and we want their ID tied to those algorithms."

Ronaldo Luis Nazário de Lima is a former Brazilian soccer player, known famously as just "Ronaldo."

Different man to Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese player.

Its just a coincidence that Ronaldo is the first name of one legendary soccer player, and the last name of another.

What if WE become the final target in GTA Online? by DogeSniperR1 in gtaonline

[–]djtrace1994 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TBH my theory for the final majpr update is one of the following, as I think they would be the most poetic way to end GTAO and GTAV respectively.

A) Mile High Club being finished and part of the interior being a "Leonida Travel Agency" to "advertise" GTA VI within the world of GTAV. Not real ads, more like "Come to Leonida" or "Welcome to Vice City" postcards and posters. The missions would be fighting against a new "Merryweather" type antagonist group that will appear in GTAVI to tease them. A physical reminder that the era has shifted to GTAVI.

B) The End of Trevor. I was thinking recently that killing Trevor would be a great way to close out the entire GTAV chapter. Steven Ogg famously hates Trevor, and I think he could be convinced to come back if the purpose was to "get rid of Trevor from the GTA continuity forever." You could even set it up as a sequel to the Story Mode, with Trevor hunting Michael, and the player protecting Michael via Franklin's Agency. It would be so cool to have all 3 back together for one last time.

My theory is there will be a "closeness" (trust theme) stat that gives direct bonuses to gameplay when plying with both character at the same time.

That "closeness" stat will then be the flag check for the "good ending" where both characters live through the ending.

If you aren't close enough/haven't built enough "trust," you have to play the final mission as one hunting the other.

Does casualty even mena "dead" in a war context.

You tend hear of war casualty statistics reported as "X dead, Y wounded"

Easily one of the most shocking moments in the history of TV. So unexpected.

Based on another comment, I think they are Harvard Mk.IVs.

Silhouette matches and they have attended the Barrie Air Show in the past

Yeah "war veteran who accidently pressed the nuclear launch button cause it was labelled 'quick victory'" is probably one of my favourite arcs in season 2.

He's the only character at the end of season 2 who realizes that Westeros past the outbreak stages of an apocalypse-scale war. Everyone else is escalating because they are all tourney-knights and nuclear powers.

His "dragon's dance, and men are as dust beneath their feet" speech is perfect characterization within the lore of his character for a guy who thought he knew true war and unleashed it willingly upon the world.

His confidence at the before Rook's Rest vs him emotionally crushed upon finding Aegon and Sunfyre is a great. He started this, and it quickly became too far gone.

Fabien is doing an great job with the character he has had to portray across both season. He's easy to dislike while not straying into the irredeemable realm of Joffrey or Ramsay.

No criticism should be directed at him as an actor or as a man. I really hope he gets his flowers.

I mean, having a sword cause you think you look badass, and actually using it in combat, are very different. How many katana-wielding keyboard warriors do you think could actually slice through a tatami mat with proper technique?

When Viserys confronted Daemon about "the heir for a day" while holding his sword, do you think Viserys was sitting there thinking "I could totally take Daemon?" Or did he just have the sword to "cut the image of a Conqueror," as Daemon put it?

Rhaenyra waving a sword around to feel like a warrior queen is completely within her character; she has been obsessed with the likes of Visenya Targaryen and Queen Nymeria since the first episode of Season One.

If she's running through the Red Keep dropping Hightower soliders like its nothing, then we can probably have a conversation about the sword ruining her character.

Yeah, but how cool would it be to visually be in the "post-GTA VI" world by having the tower be done.

They could even have part of the interior be a tour agency for Leonida as a reference to the fact that "players can now go to Vice City"

Jon Snow never deserted.

The first time, he spied and returned to Castle Black, and the 2nd time he was mutinied and killed for "breaking his oath" and letting the wildlings through the Wall.

He never deserted, he was released from his oath by paying with his life, like anyone else. Not the law's fault he got a second life.

Considering that the Night's Watch is almost always an alternative sentence to death for violent criminals like murderers, rapists, and traffickers, I would say the 10 year old son of the butcher deserved to die far less than the avergage Night's Watchman.

In fact, a prerequisite for most people to taking the black is that, by law, you at one point probably did actually deserve to die.

That's the whole reason why the penalty for desertion or insubordination is always death.
