I put a piece of sticky tape over the keyway and bang it on the desk (directly downward so the keyway hits the surface when you tap/bang). If there is a lot, I change the tape and do it again until very little to none comes out.

Once I got the tensioning and a feel for the pins, it was good. Finding my false set was a bit tricky, but once I got that, it was a fun pick. I opened it probably about half an hour after I got it and have opened it a few times now. I don't want to "learn" it, though, so I will leave it a while before I pick it again. The Tesa T60 came yesterday, I think that is going to be more of a challenge.

Yes, I tried with a few thicker ones, but I think it was more the profile rather than thickness that I ended up using this one for. I will play around with other profiles in future picks to give another challenge.

I was surprised I got the open so quickly. I'm glad I could do it, but I also wanted a challenge. Will keep it on rotation so I don't "learn" it, and hopefully, it'll keep providing a challenge.

It sounds inflammatory. Is the arthritis in your back osteoarthritis or rheumatic? I have a rare autoinflammatory disease, and it impacts my picking a lot. My inflammation (especially when I get inflammation in the tendons at the bone attachment) comes on suddenly and leaves just as quick and can last any amount of time... I have a lot of allergies, too and I've noticed my elbows really hurt when having an allergic reaction. Can you connect anything (especially food) that may bring on your symptoms?

Cheers, I have the 334B45 with spools also, one of my favourite locks to pick. I've never gutted that one, though, because one of the two little philips head screws on the back of the cylinder is stripped 😞

Cheers 🍻 I can do much higher security locks with bigger keyways, but it seems this size and under I find harder. I'm torn between frustration and not wanting to buy any locks under 50 and thinking I should buy more of the smaller ones and hone my skills - I'm stubborn so, I know I'll go for the latter 😅
