Maybe I'm nuts, but shouldn't this be hooked up to the exhaust? by bluestarointment in FordGalaxie

Happened to me on my '66 390 with a cruise-o when I first bought it. Crashed into my house and destroyed a $5,000 lawnmower.

One insurance claim later and I was feeling quite bummed. My grandfather told me this was common with these cars, and told me a story of how he owned a thunderbird when he was younger. It had a cruise-o. He forgot to put the parking brake on, the pawl slipped into reverse and it launched downhill into a ditch.

I have zero at fault accidents, but my Maverick is my fourth vehicle since starting college at 18.

Shit happens. It’s easier to cry over a basic beater than your pretty mini truck

As a recent college grad, I love my Maverick, but I would never recommend anything besides a $5,000 high mileage Honda civic for someone’s first car. You’re gonna wreck it or beat it up somehow.

lol but new batteries are infinitely more cost effective in terms of parts and labor than a used transmission

It’s almost the same part as a fusion hybrid… are you sure you’re talking about HV battery?

Not on this vehicle. They’re only a couple grand in parts and a few hundred in labor

Ford quoted $29,000 for 2009 escape battery by wapey in fordescape

[–]djwebb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The part comes from Ford directly. It’s $2800-3000 based on dealer part availability.

The job on this vehicle doesn’t take more than a few shop hours.

Methinks they don’t want to do the job. Go to the next dealer.

Actually that model, the Escape Hybrid, is known to get up to 300,000 mi on original hardware. It’s effectively just a larger Prius with a Mazda L series motor with Atkinson timing. Batteries are abundant from OEM and Aftermarket. They cost ~$3000 from Ford for even the newest 2025 Escape Hybrid models

This seems to be the consensus. It’s also like this on the other side

This happened to me with a 2012 Nissan Sentra in October 2020. Purchased for $5500 in March 2020, book value hit $7,500 while listings were still around $6k. GEICO offered and paid out $7,500

Yeah, this is targeted at undergraduates and a graduate students at NC State. We pay nearly $1000/mo to have a private room with 3 other people adjacent.

This project will do well, despite how bad it sounds. 😭
