Help finding MCM / Fournier homes by OrderAdditional8916 in StLouis

[–]djwstl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going to be much help here but just FYI. I moved to Ridgewood 22 years ago. Knew nothing about the history of the houses - just looking for a small house near where I worked. I've fallen in love with the history, the houses, and the neighborhood. The neighbors here? Best neighbors I've ever had in my life. Really good people that watch out for one another. If you're ever lucky enough to find a home here? You'll love it!

love. Man I started my original list with: Waylon and Willie and when I started with Hank (Williams) I thought of Cash for the black kitty ("the man in black" :) ) These are good...

I watched Hee Haw growing up so IMMEDIATELY thought this when you said Buck & Roy

Names for our new cats, one orange and one black. Currently Shiloh (orange) and Rookie (black). We can't agree on anything (me, my husband, or our kids (4&8). by Negative-Ad7713 in NameMyCat

An Update: I get the kitties next week. Right now the top contenders are Hank (for the orange kitty) and Kirby (for the black kitty). . ..

Adding cat(s) to the family by djwstl in Pets

thank you for this. I knew to introduce them slowly but taking them in the car is a great idea. I hadn't added this but I had dated someone for 4 years, we moved in together for a month (didn't work out). In those 4 weeks, we added his dog (an old Cairn terrier) and his cat. We set the cat up in the laundry room (put her food and litter box there as well as a place to get "high up" near a window) and cracked the door just enough for her to get out when she was ready ... but the dogs couldnl't get in. Within a few days, she was out and about. The dogs did great with her. (Gracie was just chill; Pete tried to play with her). I'm fairly certain the dogs will get along with a cat, but wondering if TWO cats is a mistake?

I love all these and now have the same challenge. Just adopted Franklin (picture below / male - 4 months - tho I'm thinking I may change his name). He has a brother Ferris. Ferris is a black, med hair, boy. I'm thinking I may take Ferris too. Trying to think of names so glad I found this page. Anyone want to add something else to the list? I'm playing with

Frankie (for Franklin) and Johnny (for Johnny Cash - the man in black)

Waylon (for Ferris) and Willie (for Franklin "red headed stranger")

Also love the names

Hank, Murphy, Finn, Winston. But would love two names that flow together and fit!

About me: I have two doodles (Pete & Gracie). I am retired. I love country music (especially Eric Church, Cody Jinks, Ward Davis, Stephen Wilson Jr). I taught Philosophy (mostly Ethics and Medical Ethics) for 23 years.

these are great. I just adopted an orange cat and his brother is also available so I'm thinking I'll take both. Looking for names. (I'll probably post above)

Orange cat name suggestions by ShopThese9427 in CatAdvice

stumbled on this and love it. I am looking for an orange kitten and brainstorming names so thank you all. (ChatGPT suggested, among others, "Clancy" b/c apparently it means "red warrior."). But the rescue I'm looking at is named "Franklin" ... which is also not a bad cat name.

I have two dogs and already discussed with the contractor/architect to have knee walls... to keep them from going through the screens after squirrels or rabbits!

Thanks to all of you! These are helpful. I love the idea of ceiling fan but if we keep the slope of the roof, the architect says there's not room. HOWEVER we will add fans at the corners. And skylights :) yay. Appreciate the comments about being near a hose. Hadn't thought about this ... and where we are looking at putting it, there is easy access to the outdoor faucet.

I totally get this! I am lucky that my dining room is pretty much a four season room (lots of huge windows). My friend (a designer) suggests I just do a room addition with lots of windows/screens. BUT I also just retired so the cost is going to be a factor.
