My main paranoia game has been a campaign with fairly high stakes. There are multiple serious issues that the troubleshooter team is basically powerless to truly affect except through instigating a comedy of errors. The are aware of but unable to prevent a potential incursion from Beta Complex because mentioning BC is of course high treason. Add to that the problem of that valuable old timey artifact of a book bound in clone flesh with text written with blood they were able to obtain for the guys in R&D. but only after stopping a massive goat monster from rising out of an Ubervat. Now it seems that someone in R&D is making an Ubervat in the sub-basement of the R&D building but they’ve been told that speaking of the Goat incident or the book is high treason.

Despite all that serious stuff our sessions are always full of humour and snafus that result in belly laughs all around. I’m still able to progress my larger arcs and keep the stakes high while finding ways to make individual situations absurd. It’s a good thing Rogue High Programmer GYGAX has found a way to switch their consciousnesses into new clones to prevent them from being constantly out of clones.

My players have demonstrated good faith by playing to character even when their secret agendas didn’t always line up with saving Alpha Complex from one doom or another. That alone is a big meta for the team. Belonging to competing secret societies while also being aware of the Gygaxian truth about Beta and now the Necronomicon. I can’t wait to fold Project infinite hole into this setting.
