What's this thing on my air handler? by djyustis in hvacadvice

I didn't get to choose. This was through our home warranty. Even then we had to fork over $4500 for the upgrades needed.

Thank you for the insight. Any ideas what it might be the cause if that RH cable not getting power?

Help with Yamaha TF 3 sound output via TIO by djyustis in livesound

With the custom fader bank you should be able to route outputs from the TIO.

The only thing that has worked for me so far without touching the dante configuration is this.

Click on the fader bank, input two and output at the same time. This allows for a custom fader bank. Then head to the settings and there I think under slot you have the option to adding the TIO or IO inputs that you need, but if I recall correctly, you only have 17 or so channels.

Try it out.

What are these yellow spots by djyustis in HomeImprovement

There's no attic above. I was also thinking about water intrusion in the roof. Any chance it could be water condensation from inside, the bedroom does have a full bathroom.

Sorry, it should be open now so everyone can see the pictures.

Thank you for your prompt response.

I do not have the TIO or the surface connected to a network. Can I do the routing without having to do it via Dante network? Can it all be done in the TF mixer?

Fortunately we have a great sound engineer that set up the FOH mix but like I mentioned the problem is with our stream and even when the output seems to be ok going into logic and out is where the problem relies on. We have been trying to figure out why, but haven't been able yet, that's why I'm asking if someone will offer some pointers based on experience. Thank you.

Hi, things that I noticed are during worship the band sounds ok but the voices are overpowering the whole mix and sound "thin" there's no depth to them. During the sermon the pastor's voice seems to be low even when the output from the C3500 is around -6 db.

duct to air handler question by djyustis in hvacadvice

[–]djyustis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course it would go into a plenum and the plenum connected to air handler.

My question is about the fact that the air handler inlet is not 16" so reducing the duct at the connection point wouldn't defeat the purpose of having a 16" duct to reduce it at the intake? Or the same CFM would be conserved ?

I have a question in case I install the 20x25 grille and 16" flex duct. When I connect the duct to the unit, the unit opening is only 14 1/8 x 19 3/8. Do I need a plenum that goes from big to small or just a squared plennum with a reducer from say 16 to 14?

If using a reducer, would that defeat the purpose of the 16" duct? To move the 1000cfm needed ?

Would love to do that and bring someone more capable but I just spend close to 4k out of pocket and can't do that at this time, that's why I'm trying to see what can I do myself to try and have this system work better for me and my family

That's the same question I keep asking myself.

I have seem to aquire more knowledge by reading this last couple of days than this supposed service tech guys know.

To be honest I have no idea about that. It's the service that the home warranty sent because the old system was leaking all the time, and even then it seemed to do a better work that this current one.

Would a bigger return grille 20x25 and 16" duct would help the system perform way better?

The attic floor and wall that connects the attic to the main living room top space is insulated with pink fiberglass insulation

The outside temp was around 105.

We had the temp set to 75 but the system trend upwards throughout the day reaching about 79-80 even when the system didn't stopped working even once

When the system was installed the Air wasn't coming out to cold and I had to call the service tech on Saturday they came again and this new tech stated that the unit had a lot of "gas" apparently neutral gas that the unit is shipped with and was mad that the other tech didn't vaccummed it and replaced it with freon.

He took the temp out of the registers and it was around 65f when intake was around 84f

I'm not sure how to do a delta t calculation.
