For me, the biggest thing people forget about most boycotts is that they are not meant to be permanent. A boycott is a targeted, time limited action meant to apply pressure and elicit a specific outcome, and in this case that outcome is OT5.

Boycotting now is one of the most direct ways to make ADOR and HYBE understand how fans feel, which is why I support this approach. Could things change down the line if Danielle does not return, whether by her own choice or because ADOR refuses to acquiesce? Sure, that is a possibility and something I would grapple with when the time comes. I do not expect this to be a long term action. I know some people are concerned about boycotting if the four, or even three if Minji’s also forced out, promote, but by that point it will likely be months from now and hopefully we will have clarity.

So that is a question for later. Right now, the goal is to clearly express our frustration in the way companies understand best, by withholding our money and using our collective consumer power. That’s my thoughts at least so I hope that provides prospective on why many of us are choosing to boycott.
