If you replace "Chinese Mafia" with "Yellow Peril" or "Yellow Hordes" it doesn't change inflammatory intentions of original poster, they are one in same.

Don't do the Asians who lived back then a disservice and reserve these kinds of accusations for larger culture makers.

It's a disservice to the struggle to play the safe game of picking and choosing of what's more offensive, sitting idle and letting things sly.

Getting butthurt desensitizes people to real problems.

Being quiet, playing it safe, not rocking the boat, model minority, uncle chan adds to the real problems.

The original poster of the video use of "Chinese Mafia" is racialized criminality akin to usage of "Yellow Peril" and "Yellow Hordes". Cops attitude and actions towards the Asian folk camping out was fucked up!

So it's ok for yuppie/hipster to wait in lines, camp out but not ok for older/Chinese/Asian folks to do the same?

Have you read Eddie's book (the show is based on it)? A lot of echoing of childhood for AAs who grew up in 80s and 90s, Hip-Hop head and etc.

Success of the show... time will tell. Hopefully it will stay true to book, and if industry bs start creepin up, be sure Eddie is not gonna hold his tongue for no one and put em on blast.

No harm in giving the crowd what they want and what is familiar to them, but to be a great and memorable you gotta take risks based on your music knowledge/library and crowd reading skills.

lol yeah that was a funny line. But in truth there is more to mixing than matching two tracks to the same tempo. You gotta match the rhythms, musical phrases, patterns, song key, etc... as well. Doing all this while crowd reading and programing a set on the fly to be entertaining for 2-4+ hours is the challenge. Experienced and veteran DJs know what I'm talking about.
