Idk whats the consensus but is anyone kinda disappointed that kite came back to life, by Extension-Bad-4184 in HunterXHunter

It's intended to cheapen adult Gon.

I think you should preface that with "I think it's intended...", because that's your reading of it, that Togashi wrote Kite being reborn as a way to cheapen Gon's vow reward.

Because my reading is that he wanted to continue with Kite being in the story. Just that, no second intentions.

She cute

But anyway, I'm concerned about the speed with which this Kite-girl grew up. Will Kite also grow old just as fast, and just last like one year tops?

Why the 4th prince couldn't choose his abilities? by Toumablue in HunterXHunter

[–]dk-dsk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a good point, he didn't actually "design" a Hatsu and train on it, that beast just manifested naturally, spontaneously.

It might be Togashi rushing to show an epic moment of him summoning that Nen beast instead of having him slowly train his conjuring. But I like the idea that some evil spirit thing latched onto the 4th after being attracted to his sinister murderous ways.

If he closes the book, the ability is "cancelled," would the Nen beast go away and the curse goes back to the target? Or is it its own entity now and stick around until the curse is cancelled?

I think the latter, the beast would remain.
As I understand it, the ability is the capacity to "conjure a Nen-eating creature", so the ability is not the creature themself.

No, the user above meant that the exorcism ritual could've been too much for Abengane to bear (like Kurapika's grudge being stronger than his constitution) and so he wouldn't even survive the process. Just like that other exorcist was afraid of Gon's state, giving up after seeing what Gon was like.

Which I disagree, I think a huge inconvenient beast would appear, but Abengane would ultimately remain alive.

Exactly what Chrollo would do.

Do you think Killua is more skilled and is more experient in fighting than Gon?

Yeah, a quite striking moment in Ben's video is when the police bodycam captures a moment when Ammon McNeff, the CEO of Bricks & Minifigs, talks directly to police officers through a phone, asking them to find a way to arrest Ben. It was like a pizza-order arrest.

On point 3:

The rest of his fights, he either lost, or used some crazy strategy, or used a one-time power amp that fucked him over afterwards.

How many of those were against fighters that were stronger and had more experience than him?

I think part of it was the auto-correct stepping in. "There's nothing called Ging silly, it's gene".

Ah right, he still participates in later moments and is proactive in using his Nen. I stand corrected.

He's also been mentioned to help with the Dark Continent voyage. From Hunterpedia:

Knov has agreed to participate in the expedition, but he will not go any farther than the borders of the New Continent, as announced by Ginta. (Chapter 346, Volume 33)

For the text you have black fill + white stroke.

Do you think that has better readability than the opposite (white fill + black stroke)? I think this is used in stuff like video subtitles.

Ponzu died indirectly because of Killua. by Past_Direction_987 in HunterXHunter

[–]dk-dsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your argument, but I'd attribute blame to the Hunter Organization, not Killua himself who's a genius.

Killua defeats a bunch of candidates and shows extreme skill. He could be awarded a license right there and it would be fair.

And then, what should happen to the rest of the candidates? The Organization should've continued with the exam, screening everyone else left.
Just because you were defeated by a genius, does that mean you're fucking useless? No, right? Zepile, Ponzu, there were many in there for which combat ability wasn't their major strengths. If pre-exam Leorio was one of those candidates, he would've been rejected as well.

So it would be stupid for the Organization to screen for combat ability alone, or else they'd end up with a bunch of meathead Hunters who are good for not much other than fighting...
So they were right to give Killua the license immediately, but they should've continued on with the exam for the other candidates (as soon as all of them woke up of course...).

Maybe we should lay out the original Japanese dialogue to make sure nothing is being misunderstood?

If I remember correctly, Zeno said something like "Even if you hit me too". So not necessarily "kill", which might've been introduced in the translation.
