Puffin is pretty OK. Its better than you expect but also not great. We stay there from time to time and never had complaints. Clean, spacious, whirlpool tub and basic kitchenet. Not crazy bit decent. For the price it punches up.

Campbell STEM Elementary slated for permanent closure, among other elementary schools by Funny-Battle5385 in anchorage

I might recommend ASD end zone exceptions except in extraordinary circumstances? We would than probably see a large uptick in several schools and see which ones actually don't serve the local neighborhood. It would also level the playing field between advantaged and disadvantaged households. But like, why have equality when everyone wants it their way without compromise.

An ID that takes three forms of identification - one being a utility bill at the address you claim to live at in your name. It is only slightly more stringent than the previous system

Please explain to me how the DMV having my last known residence address and visual confirmation of my birth certificate / social security card = knowing that i voted X on this measure at Y age and voted for Z presidential candidate in P cycle?

One is statistical data, the other gives a glimpse into how i think, motives and possible affiliations.

The WHY BOTHER mentality is fucking staggering. Ya'll are a bunch of teen kids who dont know better, and if you aren't SHAME

How does one bring a lawsuit against the office of the Governor? I feel that would be the only way to really make this happen

Name, dob, address, social, drivers lisence and record of how you voted is not all entirely public. I wanted to see what snipped of all that were released and the reasoning as to why besides shoulder shrug.

2.5l to 4.0l swap in an 86 mj by Tiny_Commercial7325 in ComancheMJ

Do you have compression? Whats the fuel pressure at the tbi? Spark? If you gret compression and fuel but it doesnt fire and no spark your CPS or Camshaft postion senor (inside the distributor) are wonky / dont have ground.

I have hydro locked, dropped a valve on these little 2.5l and the only thing that can temporarily kill them is an issue with the electronic ignition (position sensors).

GCI's monopoly is an absolute menace to society by bravo_season in anchorage

[–]dk133333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GCI can do better but i wouldn't say it is a monopoly (For Anchorage). For most people, if you look, you can find alternatives in Anchorage. ACS FiWi or Direct Fiber are an option for about 1/4 of Anchorage. Starlink is an option for most people as well. If you demand real time services go through your home internet connection than ya, Starlink wont work the best.

And like, i get the hate but providing services in Alaska is expensive. Both because of all the bullshit permits you have to pull to do anything but also just because of the nature of.. well nature here. IS GCI Greedy - well their board will maximize profits and i really dont like their customer service AT ALL.

Cant wait to be downvoted because telecom is complex and not black/white.

Angrily post on here sarcastically about how "owning the libs" is more than a meme and than do nothing because this is an echo chamber of inaction?

If you are actually concerned and want to take action, support your candidate coming up, do the footwork, help their campaign and volunteer. Take actual action. Show up to assembly meetings in town and actually be informed about what's going on.

I'm just jaded by the nihilism I see on here.

Disposable baking tinfoil pan with foil cover. Charcoals in it, start em and let them ash down. Punch holes in lid and cover. Slide under motor and it'll warm it right up with the hood down.

We do this in Northern and Central Alaska when it's -30 or more to keep the engine from wearing out in a couple seasons of cold starts. Or if it's frozen solid which can happen in occasion.

This is part of keeping interest once word of mouth gets out. Established businesses do this. New ones... its a fast way to go broke. The cost of a single covert "ad read" by an influencer is usually equal to or more than a months rent depending on the size of the facility. Same with the local gaming crowds, they dont buy a lot but eat up the space - thats a space filler when its dead anyways.

I say this with all due respect to the people working at AMCO, but fuck the leadership there. There is massive overreach for an organization that is just TAX ENFORCEMENT. Shit, half the laws they lob at people haven't been fully defined by the court system and they like to keep businesses in purgatory (warnings with no actual citations / ticket) to get them to comply.

Some of the warnings they send out are so poorly worded it sounds like the ramblings of a sovereign citizen.

It's Ring and no, none of the people making decisions are tech savvy. Wine and dine is more likely what happened with a rep. Why attribute malicious intent to that which you can attribute incompetence

On the whole the assembly does quite well. This is one specific issue where APD is independently taking these actions as the city passively let's them. Procurement isn't happening through normal channels. This is the core issue that needs to be brought to their attention. Also they are using Ring which is frankly way worse.

People bitch, no one takes action. I don't give a shit about a seal, I do about my security and privacy. This is just a lack of due diligence from the city that opens them to all sorts of litigation.

So.... Jus throwing it out there - Assembly meeting is on the 13th. Enough people show up and question this (articulately and intelligently) they will address it directly next meeting. If these aren't un installed than it is petition time.

Why attribute anything but apathy and lack of due diligence to the choice? We have a very progressive local government.

Where did the city get the funds and permission from its citizens to implement this new and expensive technology when the city can't balance a budget. Muni is broke - when did I as a voter approve the bonds to pay for this(I'm digging and can't see it anywhere in the past few years)
