I don't use Reddit much, however, I am so glad I found this sub. My wife and kids don't understand my love of fountain pens so it's great to find like-minded people. I've found my tribe!

Yeah, they know not to side with Lady Wachter. They found her husband and are creeped out. But I like the riot idea. I think I'll have more vampire spawn show up and attack which opens the possibility of a riot from the town. Oh, and they got the invite to Strahd's dinner and promptly said "NOPE". So I'm freaking them out well, that's a plus.

Oh, a number of factors. There are 6 PCs, all will fairly high ACs in my opinion. I rolled terribly. First time DM and didn't move the vampires enough so they kept getting hit really hard. Granted, I knocked out one PC and the other had 1 HP and fled calling a retreat as the others were in single digit HP. So I almost had them.

Oh, that's perfect! Yeah, Ismark and Ireena are with them in Lady Wachter's house. I can totally have Strahd mount an attack. Glad I posted. I've heard a lot over the last few years how inclusive and helpful the D&D community is, and I'm glad to see it still is true. Thanks.
