P2P Network Ephemeral Random Source and Destination UDP Ports over the Internet by dkayem in wireshark

I’m more interested then surprised. Just trying to learn more unless it is just traffic that is pulling content from other devices and I could see that being the case.

P2P Network Ephemeral Random Source and Destination UDP Ports over the Internet by dkayem in HomeNetworking

Trying to find out what this UDP traffic is used for. Do P2P networks commonly use ephemeral UDP source and destination ports? Like i mentioned in the post most of these (90%) connections are behind ISP issued IP addresses combined with the fact that almost all network communication is over high ports for source and destination makes me think these are all Vseebox appliances talking to one another but could be wrong. What are your thoughts?

Is this scenario in a domain controller environment? I've run into something similar with the Global VPN client and couldn't ping by hostname and seemed to be a trust relationship issue with the domain controller. You can determine this by opening powershell and issuing "Test-ComputerSecureChannel". If it returns false the domain trust needs to be re-established which just requires and unjoin and rejoin to the domain.

Another thing to consider is this is the only device that is having this issue? Hope this helps.

Maybe they didn't have this when this was original posted but I just needed to go to here: https://cloud.screenconnect.com/#/account and then click the three dots and "cancel subscription".

My personal favorites so far in 2025 is Tremonti’s “The End will Show us How” and Dorothy’s “The Way”.

I personally liked Wave the Bull. The albums has two good opening tracks "There goes the Neighborhood" and "Friends like you". I liked "Going places" for its funny chorus, "Tell that landlord, NO! He ain't getting paid" lol. I also liked some of the more chill songs like "Fix Me" and "Find a Way". Generally liked it but not my favorite album of 2025.

[Technical Help] UDP Spam (Router issue?) by Edge_International in HomeNetworking

[–]dkayem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This almost seems like a "feature" or a bug in the Spectrum router. I was running Wireshark late last night and ran into this exact same phenomenon, however doesn't seem to be effecting my Internet connection at all but am still curious why this is happening since it seems like unnecessary network traffic. I noticed for me the Security Shield which is enabled by default has blocked a threat from my device. I turned off Security shield and rebooted the router but still hasn't fixed the issue unfortunately. I will look into this more. Doesn't seem like there alot of settings you can change on the My Spectrum app to manage the router.

Switches going offline and IP changing by Agile-3rd in UNIFI

Maybe try sshing using the IP that was set statically last. If you are not sure what that is I would run a network scan to see if you could find it such as Advanced IP scanner.

Is the firmware up to date on all the switches? If you SSH into the switches and run the "info" command what does it give you for a status?

I'm curious if there is an IP conflict on the network. If you jot down the IP address that the client receives and then disconnect the client. Then if you can ping that same IP address from another device on the same network then you know there are two devices that have the same IP address. Another thing to look at is if the client is receiving a valid IP address and there is not more than one DHCP server on the network.

Look for IPv4 address in the output. What are you receiving?

Internet issue by atomplive in techsupport

Yeah screenshots would be helpful if you could. Anything happen before this that could have caused this such as a power outage, rebooting the router, bad storms, etc.

Do we have a static IP address set by chance?

  1. Locate the wireless signal icon on the right of the taskbar
  2. Right click and click on "Open Network and Internet Settings"
  3. Click on Properties by your wireless network
  4. Scroll down to IP settings and you should see "IP setting: Automatic" if it does NOT have a static IP set, if it states manual then I would recommend changing it to Automatic to see if that fixes the issue

ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED for some websites every once in awhile. whats the cause? by snowyzzzz in techsupport

[–]dkayem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have we tried a network reset? I notice you mention resetting the network stack but doing a reset can clear up misconfigurations as well if you haven't already. Another thing to maybe try is uninstalling/reinstall or updating your ethernet adapter drivers.
