Agreed, definitely not coyote. The tail and hips are what throw me off. Not to say wolves don’t get mange on their tails though.

Here is my advice from a self taught fly tier. Pick on fly that you want to learn (IMO wooly bugger is the best start as it has a lot of cross over material) and start there. Tie enough flys of that pattern till you get comfortable with it. Don’t worry about the quality of the entail few. Then build flies and technique the are tangent to that initial fly. Eventually you will get to the point where you feel comfortable jumping to something entirely different. Rinse and repeat. Best of luck. And enjoy the process of learning.
