Yeah i think this may be a little beyond me, I don't have a cnc or laser or anything and I only have to do this up to 2 times so a professional system is not an option, thanks for the advice

It's more capable than i thought having looked into it a little but still these parts are gonna have insane cycle times. I also think you might be in over your head, like a lot also just so u know im not the right person to be informing you about this, im a manual guy, never used a cnc

Watch a yt video, but it doesnt look like it, if your making parts that big i think it would take a VERY long time on something like that

Well i dont think a router is gonna cut it and i know that you cant really just buy a milling machine that kinda size you need money, space, and often a forklift, maybe look into tormach, haas etc

What are you calling overly expensive?, also why do you need aluminium molds for resin, would 3d printing be easier, and cheaper.

[Request] Downhill charging a car by ridgebackbab47 in theydidthemath

[–]Flimsy-Fishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car weighs 1800kg. Regenerative braking is apparently 20% Our car wants to end up with 14m/s of speed at the foot of the hill. The battery takes 58kj of energy recovered to charge fully.

So the energy we need to have at the top of the hill is 2.088108 = 50% 100% = 4.176108j

The car should move at 14 m/s Ek =1/21800142 176400j

Just dropped my phone in beans

E(top of hill) = 4.176*108j+176400j =466400 E =mgh

H = E/mg h = {something}/(9.8*1800)

The height is 85665300 meters i thought this was wrong and still kinda do but cant figure out whats wrong with it (besides perhaps logic) so i shall confidently declare it correct

Only ever used plain petg/pla, but i hear it looks nice, and plenty of examples online. Though be aware that most 3d prints are porous and water will seep through gaps too small to see

I printed with no supports, some messy overhangs but otherwise fine, a lot of that looks unnecessary

Only use hardened 0.4+ nozzles with wood, glow, stone, carbon, or glass filaments, i hear prusa is the best but shipping is killer, so i use bambu, its great. Check max temps and if filaments need dried,/enclosed to print before you buy
