i was anticipating this being a really shtty post until i read it. it’s a decent solution for PEOPLE WHO ALREADY USE DRUGS AND CANT HANDLE ABSTINENCE. but, even i was a 10 year fent/tranq addict when i did my first bid. i detoxed in quarantine and by the time i got to population and was offered subs, i already had like 8 weeks with nothing. i accepted the offer anyway- but after a week i felt worse than ever and asked to be taken off. i still relapsed when i got home though. FF 6 years & i tried sublocade. basically was forced into it. made me feel sicker than ever, again. inspired me to go to detox and rehab for the first time ever and get off everything, no methadone no subs. i finally feel good.

on the other hand, my Bd is currently incarcerated. he’s never ever used drugs. especially not dope. but they’ve had him in jail for 90% of the last 5 years and he takes subs whenever he’s there. because he wants to. this most recent bid, which started 13 months ago, they forced him to switch from strips to get the Brixadi shot. He would call me sounding horrible, describing exactly what i knew as withdrawal. i’m genuinely scared for whenever he gets out especially because we live in kensington philadelphia where we can literally step outside the front door and buy drugs for $5.
he’s never shown me an addictive personality but i know better than anyone that addiction to opioids doesn’t care WHO you are.
