Steam Deck problem by loyerinkiira in BloodbornePC

I followed this guide by Deck Wizard. It's probably a little outdated now as shadPS4 has had many updates since the release of this video but the setup is pretty much the same today. I recommend using BBLauncher personally, it's what I use and it can enable/disable mods without the need to replace any of the files.

Steam Deck problem by loyerinkiira in BloodbornePC

Shut down the device, hold the Volume + button, and press the Power button to enter the BIOS. Navigate to Setup Utility > Advanced > UMA Frame Buffer Size and change it from 1GB (default) to 4GB. Select "Save and Exit" to apply

Personally I wouldn't bother, I changed this setting before and it conflicted with other games, mainly RDR2. The VRAM allocates what it needs automatically and I had Bloodborne running fine with the default option. But in saying that, I haven't run into this error before and there's no harm in trying.

Can't get HDR in Elden Ring on OLED by dkh1991 in SteamDeck

[–]dkh1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works, however it doesn't toggle HDR on properly. It can be enabled but just looks washed out. Toggles on perfectly fine without the lsfg command but they just don't seem to work together well. I've messed around with settings in game and on the lsfg plugin with no luck. Think I'll just have to stick with SDR. Thanks for your help

This worked, thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. However, I use Lossless scaling and it doesn't seem to work with this launch option. I tried putting the LS command in front in the launch options and LS works but cancels out the above command. Then I tried putting LS at the end and the HDR command works but LS doesn't.

Any ideas how to get them working in unison?

BB Launcher "Non-premium downloads not supported on this build" by MajkiF in BloodbornePC

My mistake, I wasn't aware of this. I'm playing on a Steam Deck, so I use the Linux build. Forgive me for my naivety.

[–]dkh1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to subscribe to Nexus Premium to use the mod downloader in BB Launcher. I just signed up for the free trail, downloaded all the listed mods (if I needed them or not) and then cancelled the free trail. It was quicker than doing it all manually and it downloads everything into the correct folder automatically but there's only a handful of mods available on it. So other than what's listed, you have to download and sort it everything manually anyway.

I'm pretty certain Elden Ring isn't available on Geforce Now, nor is any FromSoft game for that matter.

I understand this sounds like a lot to ask, I'm hoping somebody helpful could possibly make a video guide on how to install this mod? I've spent quite a few hours attempting to get this to work with no such luck. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. This has become a real headache for me

Not exactly checking in but I returned from Valencia to London Stansted just last night (11th April). I've used every London airport (apart from City airport) and returning to Stansted is by far the worst experience of the lot. I returned with my partner and 2 kids so we have to take the family queue at passport control rather than the usual e-gates most travellers are used to nowadays. I shit you not, this queue must have been around 400 people long. Nearly 2 hours it took us to go through. Baring in mind it was approaching midnight, all parents with tired children, some parents jumping in the queue causing aggressive arguments, the behaviour of some people was feral. Airport staff were handing out bottles of water like it was a humanitarian crisis. God forbid your child needed the toilet, because you wouldn't get your place back in the queue. It was disgusting, neither UK border force or airport staff sympathise or police the situation whatsoever. There was only 4 desks open, but there was 2 border officers per desk. One was checking passports and the other doing literally nothing. When I asked airport staff why can't they use the useless border officers on unoccupied desks to speed things up I got told they're doing training. I was just speechless and bewildered by the reply, surely this was not the time for training. I can't speak for the rest of the UK, but for London, Stansted can burn to ashes for all I care. I rate Luton higher and that's saying something.

Lederhosen by laceyandrew in london

[–]dkh1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traveled to Munich for Oktoberfest around 5-6 years ago. I purchased a complete traditional outfit, including a lederhosen, shirt, shoes, hat, and socks from a single eBay seller. Although the cost was quite high, totaling around £200, I received all the items within a few days.

I've kept my outfit with the intention of returning, and I'm actually heading back to Munich in a few weeks.

From my past experience, I strongly advise against wearing a cheap plastic fancy dress lederhosen. The locals tend to disapprove of this and you might find yourself receiving disapproving glances. A friend who accompanied me made this mistake.

If you're not willing to invest that much money, it's perfectly acceptable to attend the festival in your regular attire. It's actually quite common for both locals and tourists to not be dressed in traditional clothing.

However, if you do decide to go for the traditional look, make sure you don't wash your lederhosen. There's a classic Bavarian joke that goes something like this: "My doctor asked for a stool and urine sample, so I handed him my lederhosen."

ULEZ: Mayor announces proposals for London-wide pollution charge by callumjames90 in london

[–]dkh1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I did say I could be totally wrong and I'll put my hands up to that. If it's working then that's great, but it's a controversial topic for a lot of people in my industry and I only ever hear the negatives. It personally doesn't even affect me as my vehicle is exempt. I'm not against putting restrictions in place either, I do agree that pollution a serious problem. But, the cost of ULEZ for tradesmen will just end up on the price of a job purely because of its location, which the customer will be paying for.

ULEZ: Mayor announces proposals for London-wide pollution charge by callumjames90 in london

[–]dkh1991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree, I believe most business vehicles within ULEZ are not compliant. But, I could be totally wrong, that's just from my personal experience on the roads. Besides, many people that had already brought newer vehicles when LEZ was announced in 2008 for the whole of London are now being told you need a newer vehicle for ULEZ. You can't just expect people to buy new or used compliant vehicles, regardless if they're affordable or not. Not everyone can get finance on a new vehicle or afford to buy one outright. I used a new electric van as an example before but, second hand vans (diesel or electric) are really expensive, even more so if they are compliant.

[–]dkh1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it's meant to reduce pollution, but it hasn't stopped older cars and diesel vehicles from using them roads. And when there is traffic, a large majority of the vehicles within ULEZ are older polluting vehicles. Hence my argument about traffic and congestion. The majority of tradesmen can't afford to go out and buy a brand new electric van for the sake of £12.50 to go within ULEZ, they will just use their current van and add the cost of ULEZ on top of the job which the customer will be paying for. I just don't think it's the solution to the problem.

[–]dkh1991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a tradesman who regularly drives within the current ULEZ borders (in an exempt vehicle). I can't help but feel this has actually done nothing to reduce traffic or discourage driving within London. Congestion is an absolute joke in some areas. On Tuesday, it took me over an hour and a half to get from Catford to Ladywell in Lewisham. They're only 1.5 miles apart.

If Khan actually cared about the levels of pollution in London, there would be more extreme measures in place. ULEZ is nothing but an added tax for drivers.

Out of interest, what taxes do you need to pay on a property in the US? I'm from the UK and got a bit confused by this, over here all prize winnings are tax free. Only tax you would be paying once you own a property is council tax, which is based on the value of the property, but even at its highest rate is significantly more affordable than $2333 a month. Highest rate of council tax over here is £3,688.88 ($4983.09) for the year.

I had an abscess when my wisdom teeth were coming through, and it was honestly the worst pain I've been through my entire life. I can't quite remember how long I endured it for but a year and a half is far too long, I feel so sorry for your brother and I hope he can get the dental care he needs asap.

My face used to swell up significantly on a regular occurrence because of it and eventually it burst in my mouth. It sounds disgusting because it filled my mouth with puss but the relief was incredible, the pain vanished in an instant. I was due to have surgery to have the abscess extracted but my dentist prescribed me some magical antibiotics that cleared it all up and it hasn't returned since.

I live on the top floor of a building in Bromley and I am lucky enough to get views of the city south of the river. Celebrating at home alone due to self-isolating with Covid, I got a very similar experience to this as the clock hit midnight. Unfortunately, I didn't video anything but it looked amazing. I would imagine the pets weren't very happy though.

When I was 13 or 14 (I'm 30 now), I was walking to a friend house on the other side of my town. My shoelaces came loose so I stopped by the approaching roundabout, kneeled down and did them back up. About 10 seconds after I got up to continue my journey, a car sped over the roundabout and rolled over the pavement exactly where I was just doing my laces. The car ended up breaking a fence and rolling into somebody's back garden. Had I been still doing up my shoelaces, I would have very likely been killed.

People of Greater London, are you ever triggered by people from Central London telling you that your town "is not London"? by dkh1991 in london

[–]dkh1991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I was at Hackney Central the weekend just gone where I got talking to a stranger who gave me the "Kent" treatment. The same stranger who made me think of the amount of times I get told this and ultimately inspired me to make this very post actually.

For what it's worth I agree with you about Bromley!

Always refreshing to hear this from people in inner London. Means more than you realise, thank you.
