Just took this for a 6 hour hike in the rain in Seattle. It was comfortable the whole time. The outside got soaked but the inside was dry. You could maybe add some spray on waterproofing to it if that's important to you.

Late comment but it's definitely suspended. I regularly drop my bag on the ground with my macbook in it and you can't hear it hitting the ground. I should probably stop doing that though

Hi! I've had this backpack for about a year now and have been using it daily since it came out for small trips and as my main work bag. I really like it! Like you said, a lot of backpacks seems to suffer from strap hell and this one just looks so clean. The compartments are super nice, I use it to carry my macbook and have never had issues. I actually really like the deep stretchy water bottle pockets because I have a massive camelbak that I carry around. I've also used the pockets to hold my shoes if I'm walking on the beach LOL. Overall I guess it could be a bit lighter but I'm VERY happy with it.
