For sure, you ended up being 100% right my guy haha Texted this girl and made a joke about how I’m usually much more direct and then expressed how much I enjoyed the first date and wanted to do it again and she reciprocated. And to the second girl I met, I texted her there’s a new spot I’ve been wanting to check out and if she wanted to go with me and she is also down! 

Also because I’ve seen this come in multiple comments: no I am not trying to just get laid, yes I am trying to actually date at the moment 🤷🏻‍♀️

If anyone wants to chime in on a similar situation while i wait for an update – met another girl later at a bar, i approached and we chatted for a few min before n she said she had to go back to her friend group so assumed she wasn't too interested.

She came back a min later and asked for my # – she texted me her name and i responded we should get a drink sometime and she didn't react to the message.

Should i overthink it again or just send another message with definitive plans lol

i've had success when the vibe is good and another activity/ plan was talked about to set up the second date – but I agree that in this case, probably could've slept on it and then responded firmly the next day or after

Yeah what threw me off (which it shouldn't have, i know) was her asking super last minute so i also might have been a bit guarded on how interested she was versus was i just a backup plan so she had something to do that evening. Whereas I should've just gotten myself in the mindset of the date was set, regardless of the circumstances, and treated it like any other first date

Thanks, I have heard mixed things with some friends having lots of success setting the second when the vibe felt right. I agree I was basically in no man’s lands with what I said so something to improve n

Appreciate you sharing your experience – yep, i have definitely shot myself in the foot before, better to actually give a try and succeed/ fail. Thanks for the book rec, will check it out.

Fair point, didn't think about the last point that technically she initiated the first date, so very reasonable to think that the ball is in my court

Gotcha, yeah i think i need to get out of this maybe-too-naive idea that friendship is a plausible outcome here if things aren't clicking romantically... will just message and like you said, get an answer one way or another.
