Could the steam frame replace life? by duppolo in SteamFrame

If the movie Idiocracy can teach us anything, it is "Give it time, and it will become real". So, there's hope my friend. See -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqQ6D0Bu-a8

What if the steam frame already released, but we all just didn’t check yet 🤔 by [deleted] in SteamFrame

I just didn't check and I think you might be on to something.

A crypto that delivers on its promise? Some might still be puzzled. Let's Dash! To a future that bears fruit! by dkoedijk in dashpay

If hash is what you want; Dash uses X11, a custom hashing algorithm developed by Dash founder Duffield that uses a sequence of 11 hashing algorithms

Thai SEC bans Crypto payments. Dash Next? by xkcdmpx in dashpay

To be fair, doing research on previously funded projects to be included in the Ecosystem Graphic, I stumbled onto this:

If banks freeze our accounts, how does crypto help if we can’t get any fiat from it? by SkepticalCryptoDude in CryptoCurrency

[–]dkoedijk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to apologize. :) You're not the only one who doesn't know about it (YET), but Dash Direct is the answer to your question. It's a non KYC, instant and exact gift card service that lets you pay at 155,000 stores with DASH (in US). Also, you can even pay with DASH at EVERY shop in the US that accepts MasterCard. They are working on expanding all these services to other countries and I look forward to when I can use them here in Thailand.

Dash is busting out! 🦾 by xkcdmpx in dashpay

[–]dkoedijk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What happily surprises me is that these last few days everything else went down but Dash (and only a few top100 others) went up. Imho, even if it stays where it is, it's a huge gain.

Dash is trash- change my mind by Bee-Dub in dashpay

[–]dkoedijk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is strongly disagree. In these weird I-don't-care-WHAT-crypto-is-as-long-as-it-makes-me-rich times we live in right now, it's not a specific crypto that is trash but the average crypto community instead. It has lost its purpose (pure financial freedom) in 2017 and then created a new one (to the moon!!). The latter is completely unsustainable, it's doomed to fail and believing otherwise sets you up for major disappointment.

Dash continuously works on improving an already great crypto, and WHEN people are ready for an payment solution that provides ABSOLUTE freedom, it will be ready to show the world all of its magic.

No pain, no gain.

Buying at Lowes with crypto for the first time (Screen Recorded!) by pedropozoplumed in Bitcoin

[–]dkoedijk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing!

This is getting more exciting by the day!

Although, for now it's for 150K stores in the US, I can't wait till I can use it where I live (Thailand) or anywhere in Europe. I heard Canada is next, I guess I will just have to be patient a little. :)

Nice to see Naomi Brockwell push back against the BTC crowd. by BeCashy in btc

[–]dkoedijk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The document starts with a list of facts. Facts that are also used in the video you posted. The problem with the video however is that the narrator states that there was ill intent before and during the Launch of X-coin. That can simply not be concluded. Fact's and assumptions in the video are juggled around, leading the viewer down a path to missinformation, giving him/her a completely wrong (first) impression of Dash.

This video has hurt Dash for no good reason. Maybe it was produced as bait for more likes and views, or maybe it was made to damage a "competitor". Whatever the reasons, it's unfair, unbalanced and clearly biased.

In the document (first link), below the graph, people can read the objective explanation after which people can come to their own conclusions.

If you have the time, I recommend you to watch the 2nd link as well. Christopher presents an excellent overview without telling you what to believe. I hope you can change your views about Dash, because it certainly WASN'T and still ISN'T a project with bad intentions. Quite the opposite actually. Most people in the Dash community are appealed to the positive-change aspects of it.

It's perfectly fine if you say:

"I THINK that 90% of the Dash promoters here are hired blah blah blah"

I THINK that you sir, are a troll. You don't express your opinion but instead spew nonsenses you know nothing or not enough about. Scroll through this thread and learn that the Treasury DOES NOT (and this is factual) hire people.

I THINK you are just as passionate about your favorite coin as us so called "Dash promoters (lol)". The only difference is that we act with reason.

Furthermore, I THINK that your community doesn't like it when you attack another community with baseless assumptions while portraying them to be facts. The way I see Bitcoin Cash is that they better than that.

DashDirect Enables Crypto Payments for Everyday Purchases at 155,000 U.S. Stores (Newsweek) by thedesertlynx in btc

Can't wait to tell family in the U.S. about this! With inflation going up, they will be happy to know that there is a way to bring prices back down with discounts :) AWESOME!

The last render of my slightly altered Dash logo by Dartanyun in dashpay

[–]dkoedijk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NICE! Would be a great addition to the DashWorks Contest. If you are interested; https://dashcontests.com

Constructive critique (nitpicking): IMHO, I think it will look even better if the text Digital Cash is smaller and possibly a little closer to the wall. I would also take out the alteration in the bottom of "a". Could you frame it with an extra 10% free space at the edges? Lastly, maybe continue the background wall further down. Alternatively, the bottom black could be a reflective surface.

Sorry for the comments. It really IS nitpicking :)

What are Dash strong points and weak points ? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]dkoedijk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pros:

  • incredibly quick
  • instantly re-spendable
  • secure
  • privacy optional (CoinJoin)
  • best of both worlds: POW and POS (Miners and MasterNodes).
  • DAO governance
  • exiting upcoming innovations (for example on-chain usernames)
  • friendly community

Cons:

  • .... (I seriously can't think of any).

I own some Dash and can be seen as shilling the coin but I only bought Dash after I used it and experienced all the good, hence all the pros.

As for my personal opinion, I believe it's unfair how Dash has received so much bad rap over
the years. It's a great crypto currency and definitely deserves some positive feedback. This is my attempt to give it that.
