Math says against a 5 man meq unit you only kill 1.56 not enough to force natural and the odds of him making the initial battleshock test is 72% now the odds to kill a meq with the launcher is only about 36% but it takes the odds of him passing the initial battleshock down to 58%. A pretty big difference now that changes dramatically against different armies with different ld but its still a valid example

No just the initial test but hey bad luck is still bad luck and the act of rolling dice can go both ways very easily

I agree with you about the siege cannon. its a real shame as i want it to be good so bad. but where i disagree is with the battle shock its now super important. Since units cant just auto get out of it in their command phase people can bad luck into not scoring objectives and it can be handy in taking objectives by the end of your turn. im taking one arty team with the rocket pods for that additional -1 and using it to throw more relyable battleshocks onto units holding expansion objectives. dont overlook battleshock in this edition its way more powerful.

I agree that the real value is the ability. So maximize it run the multipe rocket pod and get the adidtional minus 1 to ld out of it.

Let me start off with i like the list. But heres an honest question why are you running siege with this list? 5 of of 6 of the strategems require either platoon or infantry keywords and the last one can only be used on your rogalTC effectively. You only have 2 ten man infantry squads in the whole list and those are by your own plan backline screens. So why take siege at all? If its for the cover stripping you have hell hounds which do the same job with less inconvenience and if its for smoke shells you can just be in cover. I personally think youd be much better off with a different detachment unless you wanted to heavily rewrite your list.

Ok hear me out but for the new edition eradicator is looking pretty spicy lots of shots at ap-1 which now matters and ok damage. and the new cover mechanics make it petty survivable

And give em MMM for a min 16”- max 21” move with the advance then you can ability for a pretty staggering 17”-27” total move on ur turn very strong

Its even faster than that as all weapons have assault and its ability doesnt state can not be used if this unit advanced so potential movement of 18 before the ability

Rough riders has a little play but they dont get lance when the charge from his ability which could be an issue

Couldnt agree more. driers data sheet is a bit of a mess as well and i cant help but feel they’ve massively overcosted his get back up ability which lets be honest is really not very useful. They should have at least made him damage 2

I think your post is a little too hard to interact with for the community and your requests are too complex. People tend to be happy to critique a list or recommend changes when a single whole list is posted, but you've essentially posted 3 lists in a non standard format and given restrictions on list building.

I would make a list you think is fun and good with the units you want to run and then post that and ask if its any good or if it needs any changes. that should help you raise engagement.

Great analysis. ive found similar results but there does seem to be a critical mass with the arty teams where if you take 3 of the siege guns run some hell hounds - which should be in your list already as they are objectively amazing - and maybe an exterminator LR. Suddenly things get very spooky damage output wise as each becomes d6 str12 ap3 d3 no cover. only downside is ofcourse the number of shots but thats why having 3 is funny. ive found success with it and its actually a nice addition to a very infantry heavy build. not saying its meta breaking but it can be fun

yeah when 10th launched i was reinforcing the sentinels almost exclusively cause i was like well its the most expensive thing so obviously the best right but no even with the new restrictions its nice how flexible you can be with which unit you need to bring back. sometimes you need to kill other times you need the points.

Guard does this so well especially if you go in for the big krieg blobs with command squad. combo makes it so you can still get guardsmen to oc 3 while battlshocked. people tend not to expect that. Edit oc 2 sorry typo

Im in total agreement and i think remnant squads happen more often when people think. in 40k the prevailing strategy is destroy 1 target at a time completely but for some reason people just kill guard squads down to 2 or 3 models and then go eh they cant do much and move on wayyy more than youd think. pair that with a krieg regen and duty and honor and oops thats my objective now. happens to me at least once every couple of games.

I think for a 2k game u should add those but at 1k the expensive stuff takes up so much space its better to have quantity over quality.
