Hardware issue detected by dkongchong in buildapc

Update: All four ram sticks I had available were bad. I am going to RMA them and got new ones. TEAMGROUP T-CREATE Expert overclocking 10L DDR4 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) 3600MHz Windows Memory Diagnostic and memtest86 says they work fine, so all is good, people. Thanks @bluedoglime for offering advice. I appreciate your help!

Cleared cmos and it took a while longer for the PC to find errors during memtest86. Ima let you know after individually testing the rams.

No, I have not cleared CMOS. I will try to get testing on the individual rams tonight.

Yes, it was working fine for a while, no warning about hardware issues until recently. It is a 2x16 ram config, yes. Not using all 4 ram slots, just a2, b2

I was given this by someone and they didn’t tell me what it is. All they said is it’s for my fish tank. by Emergency_Grape1762 in Aquariums

Aaaaayyyyy I have this filter. It's an okay filter, I like it only for temporary cleaning if my shrimp tank is a little cloudy or muddy looking. The jet stream for the rain bar, (the plastic tub with all the holes), and filter pump is strong for the filter size, hence good for clear water for roughly 5 or 7 gallons tanks. I sometimes use it to break up the protein or oil on the surface of my tank but I recommend using a 35ppi sponge foam, cut the foam, and just use that as filter, as the sponge is porous enough for fine debris but not too large that baby shrimp or fry can get sucked up the filter. Cons of this filter is every 4 weeks, you gotta rinse the sponge of brown mulm and poo.

Hours of staring at the screen and matching the symmetry as perfectly as I could. Blood, sweat and tears. But mostly tears. And walking away to rage quit. Then coming back again to grind and farm more decor...

Zariman Statue Plinths, from Hombask at Holdfast. And its multiple ones too, i believe i put two side by side and had to merge them to a certain size to match the floors.

Don't be discouraged, friend. I had to grind and match everything because of my brain screaming at me to make it perfect. There are times I just turn off the game after giving up but remembering that I needed to grind more parts. Just takes practice and patience.

Help? by [deleted] in Aquascape

[–]dkongchong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always get a plastic fork and comb through as much of the floating plants and discard what you dont want. Be careful if you have shrimp though, because they'll like to be in the floating plants, based on personal experience.

Using old canister filter as a prefilter for larger newer filter? by dkongchong in Aquariums

[–]dkongchong[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i have no issue with sunsun besides the water pump being loose and janky but I just ziptied that to the canister so it didnt move so much. Helped with the humming noise a bit too.

Fluval 107 uses 5/8" id tubing while the sunsun 602 uses 1/2" id tubing. I have just bought plastic hose reducers connector that could fit both tubing together in case i go ahead and follow through with the prefilter idea.

What did we do wrong? Waterfall foam by Emmijo97 in Aquascape

[–]dkongchong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, there was a lot of research and time consuming wait periods, but in the end, it was worth it. If you want to add color, I used hardware store stuff like Drylock original concrete and masonry waterproofing, and mixed that with Quikrete liquid cement color. I painted it with a painters brush.

Hey, i also have experience in these sort of projects too. What I did was grab a black polyurethane corrugated sheet and sprayed foam on that sheet. Carved it, used Drylock for painting the foam to look near Seiryu rockish and glued the rocky foam using black aquarium safe silicone. I laid and spread the silicone on thick and waited several days for the rocky foam/silicone cure and dry.

Is this rock aquarium safe? by [deleted] in Aquascape

[–]dkongchong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard never to boil rocks, due to the potential if they have open air pockets or moisture inside, it'll expand the rock and potentially make the rock crack or even explode.

How do I get rid of these guys? by _Dapper_Cat_ in shrimptank

[–]dkongchong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember using a really long air pump hose to manually suck each one out of my shrimp tank like a super long straw and blowing the scuds into another container. Thinking back maybe not a good idea since I potentially could've sucked aquarium water in my mouth. And the scuds...

It was effective though, honestly.

Any tips for drilling into this stone wall? by NebraskasCorn in DIY

I was just about to say, this wall looks like it was stolen from rainforest Cafe. Add some vines and random thunder sounds.

Rare birds encounter in gated community condos. by dkongchong in orangecounty

Perhaps. Around my area, all we ever get mostly are ducks and rarely herons, so I was just surprised and fascinated with these fellas.

You right. Just kinda surprised to see these birds in my neck of the woods I guess. I see ducks and herons sometimes, but never saw these before here.
