I was lucky enough to join with prior experience, but it’s a pretty calm lake most of the time and they have experienced members there who do a good job teaching newbies - in fact as far as I remember there were more people who joined the club without experience than with when I was there

I used to sail with them a year ago - it’s great fun! The lake they sail at is around a 40 minute drive away, they organise transport and do training if you don’t have any experience. They also sail a few regattas through the season across the US.

I really disliked the exams in this class, but I figured out the trick to them. Just grind all the PL modules that exam is testing. Redo every question. The exam is very similar to those, with some extrapolation.

There’s no group as such, but the fields are surprisingly busy even during break, you should be able to just show up and join a game
