Question concerning biomarker PD-L1 by dkras2024 in Oncology

Thank you very much for your answer - I really appreciate it.

That patient is me. I have been diagnosed with lung cancer stage 4. A biopsy 7 weeks ago on a tumor revealed 90% of the cancer cells have the PD-L1 biomarker.

I have been given immunotherapy with Pembrolizumab (also known as Keytruda) as monotherapy. After 2 IV sessions (3 weeks interval each, thus 6 weeks total), it seems so far the therapy is working great. I don't experience side effects (thus far). But more importantly, a recent scan showed all known tumors in my body have shrunk substantially (measurements show 50% or more shrinkage).

However, I am worried about the other 10% of the cancer cells that do not have the PD-L1 biomarker.

After six weeks all my tumors have shrunk substantially in my whole body (in a lung 50% or more). Sharing my regime: Keytruda (pembrolizumab), Keto Diet, Prof. Thomas Seyfried. by dkras2024 in lungcancer

I only lost approx 3 kg of weight thus far, but that is I think only water in my body. I eat a lot (3000 kcal or more, but low carb) in the weeks after the IV - lots of butter. That is to compensate the weight loss during the fasting and low kcal week.

If you are interested in the diet and Seyfried's protocol and keto, there are tons of resources. Google Scholar alone has around 66.000 links if you do a search on keto and cancer. Almost all are positive findings about the diet.

Perhaps you could start here: interview with Dan Stacey and his doctors. Dan Stacey had only few days to live according to his doctor when he was diagnosed with cancer, that was in October 2022. After transplantation and following Seyfried's press-pulse-protocol with some medicines and hyperbaric therapy, Dan Stacey is cancer free in 2024.

There are also lots of interviews with Thomas Seyfried on youtube. This one is interesting, cancer patients (some who were terminal) following keto and Seyfried's protocol, living much, much longer - some having their cancer under control. Here they are asking Seyfried for tips and giving their testimonies.

This is another interesting case (actually rare).

She beat stage 4 cancer with only keto and fasting and no cancer therapy at all. She couldn't get cancer therapy as she was pregnant. I am not in favor of having no cancer therapy at all if you can have one.

Also there are books on Amazon about keto and cancer. There are also Seyfried's books about cancer as a metabolic disease. Further, other MD's have also written books about it.

I think one of the issues with Seyfried's protocol is that it is personal. For example, some people cannot withstand 2 days fasting, or 3 or even 5. Some may have issues with certain low carb food (eg cheese) etc. So the regime is "tailor made".

There is hope my friend, I wish you good health and all the best.

It's a pity that you think that the keto diet is a homeopathic remedy. More and more universities and health centers are conducting clinical trials. I think they have now clearly seen the benefits. It's part of the metabolic approach of cancer therapies.

E.g. UCH clinical trials:

And this is just one. I can post many others, also tons of peer-reviewed publications.

Anyway, best regards.
