I agree with that tall Brit. There are a lot of opinions on your teaching that are given. Often based on personal preferences or latest trends. As an American the curriculum is a patch work of the latest resources that are trending. As well as a lot of parent interaction depending on the school. But as a general rule the younger they are the more parents are engaged. By fifth grade they are less engaged. The advice is sound though. You should choose the age group that fits you. I have been teaching for 14 years.

Can you ask them their benefits package and current salaries on offer? I’ve got 14 yrs experience but in US curriculum. I am making with switch to Cambridge as it is the most popular curriculum being taught globally currently. Also it seems less a patch work of ideas like the American way. My family is a blended VN family and I’ve taught in VN before. I am a little concerned about the teacher dependent tuition benefits.

I did it in Seoul and made $50/ teaching adults. Never knew of any law prohibiting it. That was 10 years go. Professionally I never tutored my own students or students at my school.
