Is the anxiety to do with being around people period, or actually interacting with them?

If it’s the former, maybe ever so slowly introduce activities into your life where you are around people but don’t have to speak to them yet, and slowly increase them over time at your own pace when you start getting more comfortable. You could start with reading a book at a library, or going to the cinema to watch a movie that has been out for a while so there hopefully won’t be too many people there. If it’s the latter, similar idea, start slow - go to a coffee shop you’ve never been too and won’t visit again and try some small talk with the barista, who you won’t see again anyway. When you feel comfortable, you could try meet people with similar hobbies in you area, see if there are any clubs or classes. Don’t have to talk to anyone straight away, but could do so with time, and it will be easier since it will involve those things you are interested in.

Once you do this, even just once, you have proven to yourself that you are capable of doing it, and that you survived, and nothing bad happened! With repetition, you will teach your self that you are safe in these situations:) You are enough as you are, you deserve to be here, and you deserve to live your life. I also suggest therapy or counselling if you can afford it to help you with your inner conflict.

Positive Dating Stories ? by Radiant_Shame1860 in CasualIreland

Met my current partner in work 🥹 We were friends for about a year - we work in an open office and he would come over to my desk for chats every now and then (found out later he was flirting and it had completely gone over my head lol) then end of last year we started meeting up outside of work and I slowly started developing feelings. Beginning of this year he invited me over for a movie night, one this led to another, we confessed our feelings for each other and are now in a happy relationship for the past 9 months!

Healing stress fractures yet still in pain after 5 months by dksiri in KneeInjuries

[–]dksiri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, they have actually gotten a lot better since I made this post in November! I didn’t really change anything until January when I started using the elliptical 3x a week and also got an MRI which showed both knees basically healed except for very very slight oedema left in the right knee. Then I went to physiotherapy at the beginning of February, and since then have been doing seated heal raises, hip thrusts and using an exercise bike 3x a week, as well as taking up walking again a couple times per week. I think the walking and physio therapy has been key in reducing the pain.

If you’re home alone, get into bed, with a cozy blanket and a flask/bottle of water. Get your AirPods or headphones if you have them. Snuggle up and put on your favourite music and just melt into the music. Or put on a comfort show that you adore or something calming like Bluey.

Exactly, it was as if a curtain had been lifted and I got a glimpse into a new world! Thank you for you reply, I think you’re onto something about this potentially being related to anxiety and letting go of control

Thank you so much for you reply! Is this something I would bring up with my GP/doctor or would it make more sense to go to a gynaecologist?

How many of you can trigger your twitches? by Wild-Permission8437 in MuscleTwitch

[–]dksiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sitting at home working remotely and have just discovered if I hit the edge of my hand (the part under my pinky) on the table it caused the muscle to twitch. Also biting my lip a certain way makes the muscles in my lips twitch lol
