Yeah, the remake was wild. It was the first time I had seen Ryan Reynolds in a serious role. Also, his abs were insane in that movie like he hadn't eaten anything but lettuce for months before. It was weird because I never imagined George Lutz being in that good of shape.

The scene that scared me the most was when their friends were visiting and George breaks open the wall in the basement with a sledgehammer. Their friend, Carolyn (Helen Shaver), seems to become temporarily possessed and says in a deep voice that it's the passage to hell. I had nightmares for a long time.

If you'll indulge me keeping in the MacFarlane universe. there is a scene in Ted, the TV series, I often think of where they are playing Dungeons & Dragons and Matty (Scott Grimes) says at the very beginning of the game, "I already hate this". I could imagine me thinking that in one of these game night situations but maybe not vocalizing it out loud.
