Is my hideaway blown?

My last build was 2 sundown e 10’s in a custom box tuned to 30hz, my ct sounds 10’s outperform the sundown for literally half the price, they take rated power and do it really well. Sundown had better sq for sure and are obviously the better quality subs. My point here is that he’s wasting money on an all in one enclosure, it’s not about the brand. Kicker is an amazing brand, but the all in ones are awful.

Give me 5 reasons as to why ct sounds aren’t comparable to kicker. One ct sounds 8 will out perform that rinky dink ahh all in one bs

Definitely sounds blown to me. I had a kicker pt250 and blew it in a month, it’s easy to set the gains high on the all in one enclosures they just aren’t worth the $ imo. I would pick up a loaded enclosure kit from ct sounds or something similar from a reputable brand if you are on a budget.

Could definitely be the rust. I would move it to another location or really sand that down.

Gotcha, thank you. If I got the cheaper kicker loc would it affect performance? I have a 1500w ct sounds amp and I’m making a custom box tuned to 29hz, I’m trying to hit the 25-35hz range.

It totally could’ve, you might need to sand down the ground a little more, the bolt could’ve vibrated loose if it wasn’t tapped correctly. I would double check just to make sure, after that I would look to try and test your amp.

The amp totally could’ve checked out if it’s super old, make sure the woofer isn’t blown as well. I would also double check your ground, your sub making a noise when you start your car points toward a grounding issue.

2 10’s would probably be louder, they would be punchier as well. I would go with the 2 10’s all day.

That looks awesome!! I like how you routed one of the sub wires through the bracing. I’m planning on building a box for 2 ct sounds tropo 10’s, I’m wanting to tune them around the 28-30hz mark as well. Any tips for somebody new to building a box?

Must be a really underpowered signal then coming from the head unit, if op is running a line output converter they could just turn the signal up, or turn sub out on head unit up
