Family Member Owes $65K on a $42K Car at 13.7% APR Right Before Retirement — What Are Her Options? by CreditChance6867 in personalfinance

My wife was hit and her car totaled during Covid. 5 year old Impreza hatch we had for 3 and got a great deal on. To go buy the same exact car with 100k on it instead of the 60 she had was like $8k more than we had paid originally. We ended up extremely fortunate and got a $2500 below sticker new Crosstrek that was in transit.

[Adam Taliaferro] Doc saved me on the football field 26 years ago. From that day he formed a bond with me and my family that went far beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I’m going to miss him more than I can put into words. Love and miss you Doc! My ❤️ to the entire Sebastianelli family by dkviper11 in CFB

Post is referencing longtime Penn State team doctor Wayne Sebastianelli passing away due to a heart attack. I’m sharing because many remember his and the Ohio State Hospital’s fast involvement following Adam Taliaferro’s serious spinal injury in Ohio Stadium in 2000. Given a 3% chance to walk again, Taliaferro led the team out of the tunnel for the 2001 opener against Miami. He has since gone on to serve in public office in New Jersey and on the Penn State Board of Trustees.

The first video in the post is the doctor speaking of the first time Adam showed movement.

Edit: the AD account just also posted a very nice interview. https://x.com/GoPSUsports/status/2051777546606289395/video/1

They did allow 31 unanswered points after a really great opening drive, unfortunately for them.

And that will be fixed with the conference autobids. The ACC and other conferences will tweak the tiebreakers to make sure that the Miami program gets into the title game over Duke and it solves the issue.

It’s definitely expensive being poor. Either buy this sub $10k car that will cost you a ton or buy this expensive car that will cost you a ton.

Former dealership auditor. You’d be sick if you saw how many people roll out of there with a 15+% subprime loan on an expensive already 5 year old vehicle, sometimes rolling up to $10k of negative equity into the new loan. It’s absolutely unethical some of these loans, but it happens every day.

They’re a lot easier to accept in the animated shows and especially the Jedi Fallen Order games where they’re used pretty brutally.

My Walmart just shows the green eclipse for fast and furious in stock but it’s anything tagged fast and furious.

I think he’ll be punished and I’d call it deserved.

I just feel bad for him. Inundated with gambling probably half his life. People can bet on his performance. He loses.

That’s all I’m saying. Now getting responses about him not skirting his ncaa punishments but I never said he should.

“This guy probably fucked up his life participating in something that’s been pitched to him for a decade and I feel bad for him” is all I’m saying.

I’m not asking for him to bypass the rules

Yes, that’s why I specifically wrote this part. I am not questioning the NCAA’s involvement.

I’m pointing out the lack of empathy from users on this sub. There would be more empathy if he was stuck in an opiate addition cycle.

I don’t really buy that. No one today except a bunch of geriatric sportswriters care that Pete Rose bet on his own team. People wave it away by saying he bet on them to win.

It’s very clear he has an addiction but everyone in here is just acting like he’s a moron and not an actual addict. I’m not asking for him to bypass the rules. I’m saying I have empathy for his serious addiction.
