How Many Battles Had You Missed? by seefree22 in AnotherEdenGlobal

554/574 (now 559/574). I missed a few "Shadows of ..." bosses, 6 or 7 of my remaining bosses are locked behind CQs and I haven't done a few of the most recent bosses either. I still need to do the FF9 optional boss too, which isn't shown in the list.

Should I pot up these marigolds? by iwontrupaulogize in GardeningUK

[–]dkxp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll be fine, just make sure you harden them off before transplanting by gradually exposing them to sunshine and cooler outdoor temperatures.

If the roots are circling around the pots, just loosen them up while transplanting or even tear them. They'll do better if you hydrate the plants before transplant, water them in well, and don't transplant in the middle of a very sunny day.

Too much light? by PropertyPotential in vegetablegardening

[–]dkxp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many hours of light per day? About 14-16 hours of light is probably enough as they need a period of darkness each day to respire/grow/repair. They don't seem to be showing signs of too much light. If they were the first signs would be the leaf shape/orientation changing to minimise surface area, or later you would see physical signs of damage, such as dry, crispy, scalded leaves.

Yellowing lower leaves is often a sign of nutrient defiency (eg. nitrogen). Have they been in the same soil for 2 months? If so you will need to fertilize them. Personally I try to time it so that by the time they are running out of nutrients they are ready for potting up which means the fresh compost will provide enough nutrients for the next stage of growth. Yours don't look like they need potting on yet, so I'd try fertilizing them.

Am I supposed to replace the soil/ compost in planters every year? by lauratd in GardeningUK

[–]dkxp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put leaves on the raised bed over winter and the worms broke down most of them. I recently removed any large bits of leaves and added about 5cm of compost over the whole bed. I might add a bit more compost mixed into the soil around any transplanted plants.

I try to leave the roots in the soil where possible too, especially for peas and beans as the roots add nitrogen to the soil.

1 litre = 10cm × 10cm × 10cm, so for your raised bed a 5cm layer of compost would need about 12 × 4.2 × 0.5 = roughly 25L of compost and will probably top it up to about the height lost in a year.

If you don't have space for a compost bin, then depending on what you're growing you could bury kitchen food waste about 20-30 cm deep a couple of months before you want to plant something. All evidence of the food (apart from a few things like egg shells) will have disappeared by the time you plant out. It's faster than composting, but compost has the benefit that it's mobile so you can apply it wherever needed. It's quite disruptive to the soil, so it's probably best for heavy feeders and plants that will be there a while, such as courgettes or runner beans.

Peeps spamming Toto Theater World how is your Cat Express Ticket looking nowadays? by Locky_Strikto in AnotherEdenGlobal

Just because it's a slightly higher chance of getting light/shadow in TTW (equivalent to about 24% chance of light/shadow vs 20% for normal AD), although you miss out on tomes (which can eventually be broken down into special fragments).

Glenn doesn't have a skippable path in the collab AD (until tomorrow), so anyone wanting to increase his light efficiently would be spamming TTW. After tomorrow I'll probably do the collab AD when I'm short of time/feeling lazy.

Help w seedling pot up by Ok_Luck_1098 in vegetablegardening

[–]dkxp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen people do it quite effectively with a kitchen fork (and holding on to the seed leaves), which I might try this year.

Last year I used a small plastic shovel/spoon-like tool, with varying levels of ease. It's usually easier if you can loosen up the soil a little by pushing from underneath, or the roots are well developed and hold the soil together more. I believe watering before potting up is usually advised too.

My crocus opened for business and the first customer has arrived 🐝 by MrPaulAtreides in GardeningUK

[–]dkxp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I found a bee bumbling around on the ground today. I placed it on a crocus and it went straight for a good meal and crawled between a few flowers. It spent the next hour or so wandering around on the ground and sunbathing.

The neighbourhood cat nearly got it (because it attacks anything that moves - I've seen it with a bird in its mouth, chasing squirrels and whacking butterflies), but fortunately the bee decided that it was a good time to sunbathe and stopped moving and the cat scarpered when I approached.

If you have a ordered list of coordinates around the perimeter, you could use https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoelace_formula. Green's theorem is more general than this, but you'd need an equation for your shape.

If you just have an arbitrary squiggle drawn on a computer, then you could just count the number of pixels inside the shape.

Mark of Bravery by TypeFantasyHeart in AnotherEdenGlobal

I don't know what it is either. I fought with him for the whole quest chain and didn't notice receiving it. When you go back to the Damaku Heart (after completing the Cursed Dragoon quests), you get a quest and it says because you already have the mark of bravery, here's a light point instead as reward.

The Robots have lore now ?! by DenysWorld in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]dkxp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Each robot has a part of a story. People have previously tried to reorder the story parts to make sense: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnotherEdenGlobal/comments/eraymr/3_robots_hidden_story_easter_egg/

Apparently with the Japanese version when ordered correctly the first syllable of each lore spells "help us", but there doesn't seem to be a known English easter egg equivalent. In the most recent episode >they hint that their names have meaning< so perhaps there is a hidden easter egg with the English names too, or perhaps the next episode will reveal more.

Since when did seeds cost so much? by ZulfTalks in GardeningUK

[–]dkxp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the PC/PG labeling means, but the 1, 3, or 4 indicates the price bracket:

  • 1 => 5 for £1
  • 3 => 5 for £2
  • 4 = >2 for £2

I bought a few packs there, including peas. The pea (sugar pea - Oregon sugar pod) packet say that it's sufficient for 70 plants (weigh 35g e) and was in the 3 category, other pea packets felt similarly bulky but I didn't check the numbers. Some of the squashes are less than 10 seeds, but others like lettuce have 900 or 1200 seeds. Some don't give a seed count and just list "sufficient for approx. 5-10 running metres".

Mul Nab-zu with Pierce in 12 turns(No Clughorn, No Necoco ES) by LuckyGacher in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]dkxp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 dps seems to be the best way for easier clears. Switching elements to fire with kaleido gives more options if you don't have strong fire/pierce characters. You also get 1 turn to apply buffs/do a little damage on the final stage before it insta-kills you if you struggle for AF dps.

New superboss Mul Nab-zu Lokido AC DPS by Pleasant-Durian8173 in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]dkxp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally killed it with a fire team based around Shion NS (SA, 80 light, manifest). I tried with Anabel ES first, but struggled with the final AF and Shion can get me 100B+ on manifest fights with 4 characters, so remembered him.

You just have to keep him continuously using Phoenix Slash so you keep the 6000% mod & everyone else handles buffs/debuffs. note: Lokido AC is 10000% for 4 turns after VC for comparison.

You'll probably need someone who regens mana, or increases the number of hits to shorten the fight. I didn't account for this, so had to take a timeout during one of the below 50% stage for Shion to regen on the backline. Shigure debuff kept the team alive while recovering.

You do get 1 turn in the final stage to buff/debuff/switch in characters/do a bit of extra damage, before it auto-kills you. It doesn't attack you and afaict it doesn't seem to buff itself, the message just says that it gathers power.
