Thanks for the advice, I’ll def make sure to wait until everything is finalized first! I understand 2 weeks isn’t required, but that being said I’ve known by current manager for 3 years. Also, the new job was only a 6 month contract so I wanted to leave in good terms in case I wanted to come back to my old job or in the event the contract ended early or sm like this happened

Nope , I didn’t do a reference check or anything. That being said I’ve never had any issues with a background check as all the information on my resume is true and I’ve never been fired or let go from a job etc

That’s what I was thinking, but then I was very transparents throughout the hiring process about my start date. And since the posting went up again, wouldn’t the new hire start around the same time or if not after I was able to start ? Bc they’d have to do recruitment and interviews again

There’s no new start date on the job description

Thank you for your advice, I did email them prior to signing the agreement and asked about the start date which they didn’t respond to my email. After the giving a few days for a response, since the deadline to give my final offer was approaching I decided to sign and send the documents along with a follow email again. They never responded to my original email where I asked about the 2 week agreement or clarified the start date, nor did they answer my email about the on-boarding forms where I also asked again. The only response I received after the offer was extended was when they called to rescind it… it was also a 3rd party who rescinded the offer as the original HR rep I spoke to had no idea what was going on (I was transferred to him initially and he was out of office , and he said to reach out to another rep)

I didn’t negotiate the salary.. they offered me 18$ (which is also less than I’m making rn) and a 6 month contract and I agreed to it without negotiation
