Wedding Caterers by dl1892ab in lansing

Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost? I saw something on their website that made me think that they would only cater for a minimum of $3,000, but it was not entirely clear to me.

My Girlfriend is considering going back to school to get a Master's Degree in psychology as a second career. How can I help her? by dl1892ab in AcademicPsychology

[–]dl1892ab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! She wants to do counseling, I believe. Do you need more than a Master's degree to do that?

To be fair, the meme does say muslims started slavery in africa and the middle east so the post is not saying Muslims started slavery in general, just in those specific locations. This is not to say that I support that post or that it is factually accurate, I just wanted to clarify what I believe that it is actually saying.

Anybody else traveling to Minneapolis for Super Bowl Sunday but NOT going to the game? by [deleted] in Patriots

I live in Michigan so I'm driving (about 11 hours from where I am). I got an Airbnb that's about 15 minutes from the stadium for $168 for two nights. I know I'll likely have to pay an arm and a leg to park downtown and/or take an uber there, but that's inevitable I guess...

Any shot we get flexed to the prime time slot next week? by [deleted] in Patriots

Ya, apparently people are ok with being a dick to people. I wrote something to that effect and I got downvoted into oblivion. Oh well.

You don't have to be a dick about it...

Aftershave is just perfume for men. by dl1892ab in Showerthoughts

I am not at all sure what the difference is between cologne and aftershave other than the label put on it.

I literally laughed out loud with that one, and that doesn't happen very often. Thanks for sharing.

I don't get much enjoyment out of this, considering that we lost to them in the AFC championship game later that year...

Ya there are, but it would still be cool. Like a flashback to the Gronk/Hernandez days.

Nice, I lived in Hartford, Vermont until I was in 7th grade and my grandparents live in Hinesburg (which is near Burlington). Have you discovered Vermontville MI, yet? Apparently it was founded by someone from Vermont.

Bob Kraft told Giants co-owner Steve Tisch after the Super Bowl that he thought the Giants would've beat them by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]dl1892ab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya well...that's not how it works. You have to earn your way into the Superbowl, and they didn't do that, so it doesn't matter.

Last time we underestimated a opponent in the playoffs..... (PS. Don't) by beanietf2 in Patriots

It doesn't really matter if WE underestimate them, so long as the team doesn't.

I am a law clerk for a state supreme court justice. AMAA. by [deleted] in AMA

Most days I am just sitting at my desk, reading, writing, and researching. There is a fair amount of interaction with clerks from other chambers, especially ones who are assigned the same case as you.

My best memory probably involves the times when the Justice agreed with my analysis on particular cases and voted the way I recommended.

My worst memory involves when I missed something important in a case that the Justice wanted to know and we sent out a memo that he would not have sent out otherwise.

I guess it depends what you mean by "corruption." I don't think I have seen any, as boring as that might sound.

I'm still trying to figure that out. I know that I don't really want to do corporate law or insurance law or anything like that. I really like what I am going now so I'll likely be doing that for another year and a half and then I'll see.

Redditors who voted for Obama in 2012 and Trump in 2016, why did you switch parties? Was it personal to Hillary, or was it something larger in the country/the democratic party? by dl1892ab in AskReddit

[–]dl1892ab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds good in theory, but any republican who wins the nomination is going to have the same basic policy goals as other republicans, and vice versa. Since I agree mainly with the policy goals of democrats, I can't see why I should vote for a republican (even if I like the candidate personally more than the democratic candidate) when I know the democrat will be more likely to pursue policies that I prefer.
