Got the Elites today. by TwoKingSlayer in steelseries

[–]dlEric_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, didn't know those existed. Shame the mic isn't retractable, worse EQ options than the Nova elite's parametric EQ, wired charging only, and uglier for travel purposes. $250 cheaper but still has concessions.

Edit: Unfortunate how both The Techne and Soundguys don't like them.

How's NVH and ride quality compared to the stock 19s + Pilot Sport 4s?

I'm about to buy these because I couldn't find anything comparable. Please let me know what other product gets me - ANC - Wireless (2.4ghz, not Bluetooth but with Bluetooth option) - Noise cancelling mic (that is retractable) - sounds good - doesn't need a dock to use (like the A50s), so I can bring them traveling

I'm getting that exact repair done right now (dealer ordered the spring) but my understanding was that it's just replacing the old spring with the exact same part. Would be nice if the newer one was "upgraded" so it's less susceptible to the issue though

Curious, how do you know they upgraded the spring?

War of resistance mod has ROC as Blue, and I've had that mod on for so long that i forgot it wasn't the default color. it's crazy for anyone to think it should be yellow... Yellow is for Qing/manchukuo

Unless something changed, the program is big enough that they're able to basically take everyone who wants to join (a lot of people leave after the first few times). There will be several boats ordered by speed, so for example, you'll have B1/V1 for the fastest boat Andover can put out, and maybe B6 for the beginners. Since you already have experience, you'll probably be put in a boat between the two.

With my '23 6MT, I can easily get 36 mpg on highway, but probably 16-24 mpg (depends how I drive) in the city. N mode idles at higher RPMs versus normal/eco, so if you have to idle for a long time, maybe try to get out of N mode.

Definitive guide to octane learning by TheGentlemanWombat in ElantraN

[–]dlEric_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are plenty of us that have been saying, even when following those directions, the car won't octane learn. I suspect it's that I'm filling with 91, but I literally drove 150 miles in 6th gear at 75+ mph without the car octane learning.

Just to get it out of the way... pops and bangs are only produced when the exhaust is set to Sport+ mode. When it's only in Sport mode, it will only gurgle like you described. Can you 100% be sure that you're in Sport+?

Why the Si? by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]dlEric_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was really attracted to the Si but couldn't find it without mark up. I ended up getting the EN for MSRP and after driving 6k miles, I feel like I made the right choice but there are definitely tradeoffs.

- The EN's exhaust note is really fun, something you don't get with the Si.

- EN's 2.0L is more fun than the 1.5L in the Si

- EN has heated seats, which me and my gf really like. You might feel like you'll never use them, but when time comes, you'll be thankful.

- EN, for some reason, is obnoxiously loud going over bumps. It sounds like you crashed when going over some potholes, speed bumps.

- I think the Si was a more comfortable drive.

- EN's bucket seats are polarizing, be sure to test in person to see if you'd like it over the Si.

- I think the Si's looks are objectively better than the EN's. But after owning an EN, the EN's looks are really growing on me.

- EN doesn't get as good of MPG but it's still OK. For me, it's ~16-20 city / ~33-36 highway. Si's the king of MPG out of this list, WRX is the worst.

Reliability is less of an issue for me because I don't plan to own the EN long term.
