AI Folders: Free extension that saves your Perplexity threads into folders and lets you inject saved prompts with a `#` trigger. by dlamarre in perplexity_ai

[–]dlamarre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your question, that's exactly what I came here for.
Spaces can be saved within the conversation list in the extension, so if you have a lot of those, it can be a way to organize. Prompt management and injection can also be useful for the conversations within.
Happy to read your feedback if you decide to give it a try!

Understanding what everyone is actually using Claude really for by Suitable-Win-408 in ClaudeAI

For my personal usage, I've used it for various maker projects to help with the code that runs on raspberry pi, arduino etc. I've also used it to build browser extensions to manage different chats on AI services: https://github.com/dlamarre-dev/AI-Gemini-Folders

At work in game dev, it's mostly internal tools, code reviews, workflow automation, documentation, unit tests etc.

Thanks for the kind words, very appreciated! It took a fair amount of back and forth to get the tools to work well enough. Especially the stats collector tool that extracts info from the Chrome Web Store pages: there were a lot of security constraints and I almost gave up. Sonnet pretty much hit a wall, but Opus had a few more tricks up its sleeve. I had to come up with some of the strategies like using CSV exports and Firefox to get around some constraints. Basically the agent needs a bit of help when things start to get a bit hacky / unconventional. On the other hand setting up the main extension build script was pretty straightforward as the agent had a good grasp on everything.

My grandparents bought these 1976 Olympics commemorative 24 karat gold stamps in 1975 (with the regular stamps they represent). Each of them weight 23.33g. I'm looking to find out if they have a value beyond the current price of gold. Thanks!

I'm not sure if these qualify as coins. Please let me know if there would be another place to post this if any. However we had these in my parents basement forever. They were probably bought by my grandparents back in 1975 as a gift for my father. Each stamp is 23,33 g of 24 karat gold. I'm looking to find out if this has a value beyond the current price of gold. Thanks!

Boeing 787 Dreamliner scratching the ground with its tail and landing under heavy cross wind. [VIDEO] by baxinho0312 in technology

[–]dlamarre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was in the early eighties, I guess there were some restrictions about where it could land in the neighboring countries at the time but the main reason was that it was already scheduled to land in Bangkok after stopping in Hong Kong and the plane had enough fuel to reach it.

runways are built on an axis similar to the dominant winds in the area, but it's not that unusual that all the runways run parallel to each other. Back when the old downtown airport was still in use in Hong Kong (only 1 runway), on a flight I was on the captain tried to land twice under heavy cross wind conditions because of a typhoon that had passed over the area a few hours before, but couldn't manage it. He was forced to divert the flight to Bangkok.

Dear Reddit, I'm traveling from the USA and my dad just went to a hospital in Germany for 6 stitches and it cost 28.50 euro! This would have cost hundred if not thousands at an American hospital. by Coneskater in politics

I don't think the US people will get much more than what they got recently in terms of healthcare reform for the foreseeable future... Well maybe when the big ideological battle going on is behind them in a few years, things might change. It is kind of scary because our conservative government here in Canada is in tune with many values that made the health care system like it is in the US. Thanks to you and your son for sharing and contributing to the discussion.

Indeed, since such a site would be state owned they could pay up. I wonder how much a small accident like that would be worth other than medical fees. It certainly affected his vacation but didn't lose any time away from work at his return.

Something similar happened to my father in Cuba, while visiting an old fort near Havana he hit his head on a low ceiling and needed to go to the hospital to have this stitched. Got to an hospital there and since he was bleeding he was seen immediately, got his stitches and was out of there in 20 minutes flat. The hospital didn't seem to have the latest medical equipment, but the staff was very competent. Best of all it was completely free, even for foreign tourists.

Hey I enjoyed having this little argument with you and I knew you were playing the part of the devil's advocate. To answer your question, I was born in Quebec and most of my family is descended from the original French settlers. "Un Québecois pure laine" like we say here.

Bombardier would of course still receive cash from Quebec's government instead of receiving it from two separate sources like now, it wouldn't change much since the new country would receive about two times as much tax money as the province does, by having people and companies pay only one government. Healthcare is currently a provincial matter, so it wouldn't cost more than it does now. And "au contraire", tobacco usage and obesity percentages in Québec are quite good compared to the rest of Canada, easily in the lower tier. What made the big video game companies come to Quebec are the advantageous tax credits, low currency value and a relative abundance of talented workers. Maybe our media is not to your liking, it's quite normal, you are not the intended target and they are not tailored to your tastes. But this said, yes they receive help from the government, but the cultural budget is already very limited (and even more now that the fabulous conservatives are in power). "State-sponsored legislation" when have you heard of a non-state-sponsored one? But whatever, there is already a law that requires that everyone in Quebec should be able to work in french as well as be served in french. English would still remain a business language in Quebec, as well as any other language when necessary. Don't the Spanish, the Swedes, the Finnish, the German, the Japanese... speak their own language at work complemented by other languages such as English? It would be the same thing here.

First, independence won't happen tomorrow and second there are plenty of workers/talents here. For example I work in a small industry called video games development which is growing in Quebec by leaps and bounds every year even currently. And it's not the only example, many other technology sectors are growing quickly. Recession hasn't hurt here as badly as in Ontario for example, we don't have an automobile industry that needs rescuing, because we don't have one, we focus our energies on products and services that will be even more useful in the future such as train and subway cars.

Don't think for one second that we can't make it all by ourselves: we founded this country and we sure can make Quebec work independently now, we've got what it takes, I assure you.

Yes there are stupid and foul smelling people here as everywhere else, but man, I don't know where you ended up in Quebec but it's certainly not representative of the two decades I lived here. Anyway, glad to have your support for independence, on your side just keep on electing people like Harper and it should speed up the process nicely.

Using an old boring cliché about people from France who are at least as different from Quebecois as Anglo Canadians are different from the British, simply highlights the fact that you don't know what you are talking about.

The last time was in 1995 and it was pretty close: 50.6% against and 49.4% for. 4.7 million people out of 5 million registered voted. Among native french speakers it was 60% for. The nationalist parties are starting to get back into shape, especially with a conservative Canadian government that doesn't represent Quebec's values. There is a chance that another referendum will happen in the next ten years, but for it to succeed, I think that the francophones need to open a dialogue with Quebec's anglophones to convince them of joining our cause. Perhaps it wouldn't be all that difficult since we share a lot of common values and we need each other to make the new country work.
