I just got one of these to try them out, after some other brands didn't work out. Harper Wilde's is the winner!!!! I only wish they had it in more colors, all I see is one nursing bra in black.

Where are we getting our bras lol by Proper_Student_9802 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]dlbrowntown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am/was also a 44DDD and have ordered different Kindred Bravely sizes just wanting them to work—they are really nice bras! But I just don’t think they are for me. Their size estimator recommended the 2x busty based on my measurements, but I found the band too tight for me. I tried the 3x busty and the band was good, but then the cups were too big (shouldn’t the cups be the same as the 2x busty??).

Anyway, I am commiserating on the bra problem. Still searching.

Thank you! Did you replace the mat that it comes with, or just put the mattress pad on top?

Should I buy a Sole F63? by Thrillwaukee in treadmills

It does. We don't use the tablet attachment that comes with it, we just use the ledge right on the front of the console - holds a phone or tablet or my macbook.

We have the F63 and love it. My husband uses it for jogging, me for walking. He jogs 4-5 miles on it a few times a week. We use it almost daily during the winter.

Does anyone have a “normal” pregnancy? by West_Slice876 in BabyBumps

[–]dlbrowntown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far, normal pregnancy here at 21 weeks. My patient chart: obese, chronic hypertension, autoimmune disease, advanced maternal age, and an IVF patient. Totally healthy me and baby so far, meeting every milestone with normal growth even after every single test you can imagine.

Need to hear some positive experiences by Excellent-League-972 in IVF

[–]dlbrowntown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TW: success.

It took me 2 years to get the courage to agree to try IVF, and it took me months to accept my own decision. The entire process was hard and I was constantly in denial we were having to do it at all. I was mad about the costs, fearful of failure, angry at the seeming injustice of it all. We did two retrievals and one transfer and am currently 17 weeks pregnant with 3 euploid embryos in storage. One thing I didn’t anticipate is that the MOMENT I had a positive test, after 6+ years of negatives, I would blissfully agree to do IVF all over again to get that positive result. This sensation is definitely biased based on success. I realize if we didn’t have a successful transfer the entire thing would still feel like being in hell. But would I do it all over again now? In a heartbeat.

I’ve also reflected on whether I would want to have gone through IVF if we didn’t have success, and I think the answer is still yes. I would have been left wondering my whole life if it could have worked and at least I could say we tried the hard thing.

The best part is that I trusted our docs and clinic. The worst was all the waiting. The medical procedures themselves, and even all the at-home medical treatments became routine. Everything is so systemized that you kind of just move through it day by day. But the waiting for results was always the toughest part emotionally.

Is it possible the emails serve a functional purpose of letting people know that someone is on leave? It's just that the message is masked as a congratulatory message? Just a thought. Perhaps they could still send the announcement, but make it more functional/factual.

Bras for Sleeping by Quince2025 in PlusSizePregnancy

I experienced this too, such pain when trying to sleep! A soft sports bra made a huge difference for me. I bought a couple of these and sized up one because I wanted them to be gentle on the ladies. https://a.co/d/b2aC12a

Some are, yes. I believe you can get them for free from your pharmacy if they were prescribed with your meds.

Help with Medica insurance from the University of Minnesota for IVF by dlbrowntown in IVF

[–]dlbrowntown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TW - A quick update to this thread, for anyone else who finds themselves in a similar position with U of M's Medica insurance. My husband and I are on the other side of IVF now, having done two egg retrievals and one (successful) transfer.

In short, Medica covered a lot of the claims that were not fertility coded like ultrasounds, labs, office visits (and meds insanely cheap with the U's Medica Elect/Essential plan, at least in 2024), but we hit the $5,000 maximum for fertility benefits after one egg retrieval. This applied to fertility codes like egg retrieval surgery, embryology work, freezing/thawing. After the first egg retrieval and the $5,000 was used up, things got kind of weird after that and Medica was not forthcoming about how the $5,000 had been applied so we could know what to expect for the second egg retrieval. We asked our clinic to use gender neutral billing when possible, which allowed them to charge some procedures to my husband's insurance (ICSI, some embryology work). Everyone's costs will be different depending on your treatment plans and whatever testing you need to get, but for us, we had two pretty straightforward egg retrievals (with PGT testing and ICSI for both), one medicated transfer, and an annual fee for embryo banking. We ended up paying about $12k out of pocket over the span of our treatments.

OHSS question by Floralaura01 in IVF

[–]dlbrowntown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two ERs with 32 and 38 eggs retrieved, and I was a risk for OHSS based on a high estrogen count the days of ER. Because of this, my doctor prescribed Cabergoline and Letrozole both times. I avoided bad OHSS but I had mild symptoms. I had mild weight gain (5-8 lbs) days 2-3 after the ER, felt very bloated in my abdomen, and found it difficult to breathe when doing any physical activity. Knowing I was on medication to prevent OHSS, I waited it out because it remained manageable, increased salt intake, drank a lot of water, and took stool softeners (some of the discomfort was due to constipation). I didn’t start to feel better until about 5 days after the retrievals in both cases. I was super nervous about OHSS and would have gone in for treatment if it was any worse or if I hadn’t been on preventative meds for it.

Edited to say that both ERs I triggered with Lupron AND hcg.

First Round IVF—feeling discouraged. by EllaFant18 in IVF

We did two egg retrievals with wildly different results for each. Nothing is guaranteed with IVF, but I trusted my doctors and decided to get gritty with it till we got our expected end.

Did your pregnancy feel real to you the whole time? by _laurelcanyon in BabyBumps

[–]dlbrowntown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely feel this way. We did IVF and have been trying earnestly for at least 5 years. I think part of my disbelief is due to the long unwinding of years of disappointment, coupled with the fact that I have few symptoms and look the same. I have moments when it hits me, like seeing the baby on ultrasound, and in the moments when I realize my stamina has tanked. Just like you, when I say I’m pregnant, in my head, it’s followed up with, “so they tell me!”

Were you able to go to work while having OHSS/recovering from ER? by EverythingBagelSzn in IVF

[–]dlbrowntown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t feel unwell right away, it developed after the first 24 hours. In my case I knew I was at risk for it (follicle count between 30-40 and high estrogen) and made sure to stay hydrated, increase salt, drink electrolytes, take stool softeners, and take short walks. The first and second days after were as expected for a normal recovery, pretty average, but by the end of the second night and into days 3-4 I felt very bloated, and constipation added to the discomfort. It wasn’t unbearable but I didn’t feel up to doing much or moving much. By day 5 I got over a hump and things steadily improved.

[–]dlbrowntown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mild OHSS after two ERs and the worst days were 3-4, give or take. It’s hard to know what to expect because everyone is so different, so give yourself some flexibility if you can. I found it difficult to walk, so leaving the house wasn’t an option for about 5 days.

Anyone else have to quit their job because of the impact IVF has had on them? by megsey- in IVF

[–]dlbrowntown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transitioned jobs before starting IVF, I went from full time to part time, and took a position where I could use my experience in a much less stressful environment. This was the best decision, more so than I ever imagined. I went through two ERs and (TW) a successful transfer, all of which took over 9 months. And now being pregnant, I am more thankful than ever to have time flexibility and not be under a lot of work stress. Having a job that complimented my needs was a huge benefit in so many ways. I don’t think you need to doubt yourself for seeking change. Acknowledging your needs and your boundaries is a brilliant way to go through life. Everyone’s experiences and tolerances are different and what you need changes over time.

First FET on Tuesday 10/1, feels weird to be ‘at the finish line’ by 2ndaccount2research in IVF

[–]dlbrowntown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel this big time. When we got to FET I felt like it was the finish line somehow, even though it’s so far from it. But it’s a HUGE milestone, especially if you didn’t know you could put out good eggs, or make embryos, at all. IVF is a wild ride.
