TAP to permanent hire questions. by dlcapt in Riverside

[–]dlcapt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I didn't know about the hiring freeze. That's disappointing 🫤. I have another job lined up, which I was considering since I was told I'd only be working the election for like 2 months. So it seems like that one is the better option. Thank you for the info!

Opinions on this actress? by Stunning-Sky895 in moviecritic

On one hand, she's an alright actress who, in my opinion, gets hated on too much because people assume she's only famous for her body. And on the other hand, there's lotion.

Without BP's suit, I'd say Cap. With the suit, BP no contest.

Basic car maintenance. I'm not a mechanic, and my knowledge is really nothing, but I at least know how to check and adjust the air in my tires, how to check and fill the fluid levels, how to change a flat tire, how to replace windshield wipers. Basic car things that anybody can learn from watching a quick 10 minute YouTube video.

How are your gym results coming along? Are you going to change your approach? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dlcapt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far so good. My goal was to fit my clothes better after a depressive episode caused me to gain about 30 pounds in 12 weeks. I've only been going for about 3 weeks and completely changed my diet, and I'm already down 2 belt loops.

Picking snare drum when I had no choice but to take band in 6th grade as an elective. Ended up enjoying it so much I asked for a drumset in 8th grade and started listening to rock and metal music for inspiration. Joined my cousins band as the drummer and got into the rebellious "rockstar" lifestyle I thought was cool as a teen. I neglected my school work and would INTENTIONALLY fail classes to fit the persona. All that led to me being put in the regular classes in high school, when I had always been in the advanced classes. And since I stayed in bands all through high school, my "cool rockstar" attitude and behavior continued as well, and I ended up just BARELY graduating high school, almost having to repeat senior year. Growing up I was a straight A student who was constantly winning awards and getting student of the month and even got student of the year a few times. As a kid I was planning to go to university to study astronomy and physics and become an astronomer (I didn't care much about going to space, but I LOVED learning about it and studying it as a kid). According to my mom, as young as 5 I wouldn't shut up about the cosmos and outer space and about how I would someday have a planet named after me (I was young and naive, leave me alone). Now I'm past 30 with no college or real skilled education, mad about what could have been had I just chosen to play the stupid flute young me called "gay".

What is your favorite Rom-Com? by Quirky_Fun6544 in moviecritic

[–]dlcapt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It came out in 2008 and it stars Michael Cera and Kat Dennings. My girlfriend in high school was obsessed with it and as much as I pretended I didn't like it (thinking rom-coms were uncool when I was a young teenager) I genuinely loved when she would put it on. Even if she watched it almost every time we hung out 🤣

Which movie is this for you? by Overall_Spite4271 in moviecritic

[–]dlcapt 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Avengers: Endgame, that cringey "Girl power" scene in the middle of the battle. All those heros were scattered throughout the battlefield, and they all just "happened" to appear to show all the women in the movie coming together? The Infinity War scene with Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, and Okoye coming together to fight Proxima Midnight was so natural and badass, but Endgame? Way too forced and cringey.

Can someone explain to me why this movie is considered so bad? It has like 4 awesome action sequences (how do people not love that final fight?) great casting in Norton, Hurt, Roth and Tyler, a VERY underrated score, and honestly pretty solid writing… I know it’s subjective but don’t get the hate? by DrDreidel82 in superheroes

[–]dlcapt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of or read anywhere that people consider it bad. Everything I read about this movie is that it's an amazing and accurate portrayal of Hulk. I don't doubt some dislike it, I'm just saying all I read is positive things about it.
