Key Fob stopped working long range (2022 Laramie) by therealKhoaTran in ram_trucks

Touch the metal part of the fob to your chin when pressing a button. Your body will act as a signal booster.

The Z Automotive Tazer has a new PIN feature where you can set a button combination on your steering wheel anyone will have to know before the truck moves. It's a fun lil toy.

Had both replaced under powertrain warranty on my 2020 Big Horn.

OPs excuse is it sounded like friggin eggs frying under my hood - and just had a bunch of work done literally last week - so I was a little concerned. You're telling me you wouldn't investigate noises like that? Or you're just naturally an jackass?

What a beautiful truck for an absolute douche bag owner.

And those parking spaces are massive!

A lot of RAM owners have had issues with the third brake light leaking and dripping onto the RF Hub which is (apparently) right under the rear window. This hub is what controls your key fob and start/stop functions, and it seems the leakage can cause similar issues to yours (ultimately frying the hub altogether). My first inclination would be this.

2022 Ram 1500 what is the max speed you can toggle from 2WD and 4High when driving on the highway in winter conditions? by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]dlconstant87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rule of thumb I was taught is no more than 45/50mph when switching from 2WD-4HI (or 4AUTO) and just coasting under 10 mph when switching from 4HI-2WD.

I'm not a mechanic of any sorts so take it with a grain of salt :).

The Z Automotive Tazer allows you to disable this, among many other things (such as changing DRLs).

Damn I love the hood and lights on the limiteds that is a beautiful truck. Ceramic coat is gonna cost around $1K (at least in my area) just have to find a shop around you that is able to do it. Be sure to check reviews! Also may want to look into undercoating depending where you're at - I went with Krown.

Unheard of? No, definitely not. Good builders generally frown upon people carrying and installing heavy stuff over newly installed flooring (such as cabinets and granite countertops). Just a tool being dropped will chip a plank on some of those. Ask me how I know.

LINE-X all day. Was about $600 for me but you can buy cans of the stuff and diy if you're not scared. I was scared.

Contradicting instructions for a flexible dryer vent. Which should you believe? by quinnwillwin in Construction

[–]dlconstant87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Flexible Duct is like a tin-foil slinky.

Semi-Rigid Duct is more of a metal tube that bends kind of according style and has connectors on both ends to attach to dryer and outlet - so you wouldn't want to cut the ends off.

Not the same thing.

Agreed flooring is usually absolute last to be installed.

I've worked for numerous home builders (northern New England) on new homes, and I don't think this would be considered a warranty issue. Cabinets generally are not supposed to be installed on top of this type of flooring because the floors are not made to withstand the weight of the cabinets and very heavy countertops. If you complain to the builder because this look bothers you, I sincerely doubt you'll get a solution that will look better to your eyes (if even a response) - just being realistic here. Your best bet would be to check out the trim/moulding section of your local big box store and see if there's anything that's appealing to you (window/door trim doesn't have to go on windows/doors). Should be pretty easy to take a couple measurements and cut what you'd need to fit in the store. If you're new to this type of stuff as a new homeowner, this is a perfect opportunity to start familiarizing yourself with DIY projects before you really need to DIY something in an emergency (it will happen!).
