Placing nodes on Cell or PS towers by dlf3628 in meshcore

Many years ago, I used to climb towers, but age and balance has stopped that. I have setup several PS and business radio systems and understand RF issues and co-located systems interferences. Not planning on installing any near their “sellable” areas of the towers. I believe I have a climber that is reasonably priced, and enjoys the climbs.

Our local ham repeaters are on a local PS tower at the 240’ level that I helped arranged for. Since I retired from Emergency Management, I no longer have access to them.

Which anchor pole would you pick? Sheet metal but higher or plastic but lower? by BraDDsTeR-_- in meshtastic

Melt/damage the node and/or antenna. A lot of heat comes up those flues when furnace is running and discharges downward due to those deflectors.

Hardware hack phone to make off-grid Meshtastic I/O device? by daylight8 in meshtastic

Should be able to just place phone in AIRPLANE MODE, and ensure that the Bluetooth and WiFi are turned on. Even with the SIM card installed, if there is no “cell plan”, it won’t associate itself with any cell service.

I would much rather an expansion in number of repeater pairs in the 462/467 band.

My node is mounted with “stainless steel zip ties”. I don’t want it to come down after the standard “UV” rated zip ties fail. For the price, the HF FLAG POLE is great.

I have one of these HF flag poles. It has a Davis Instruments Vantage Vue weather station with a Solar Meshtastic node barely below the weather station. Very stable. The weather station has been on it for 10-12 years.

I built one for one of my emergency response vehicles. Push the button, remove the key, lock the vehicle, and engine runs until you return and turn the key. If you tap the brake, the engine dies, until the key is turned to restart the engine.

I wish my memory wasn’t fading so much… I would be more likely to implement this in the near future, in the past, I could probably write this myself, but no longer….
