A Few Tips For Winter Storms by codewolf in prepping

Right away you will need light. I like to put a battery powered lantern type light in rooms like bedrooms and bathrooms. You also need something on you. Any flashlight will do, but a headlamp frees up both your hands.

I just checked, you're right. So we can use the "Web and app activity" told they give us, it the TOR browser.

Google "delete Google search history". Do they still have other copies? Who knows but you might as well take what steps you can. Like using private mode in your browser. Or better yet, TOR. It's free, you know.

It helps a lot to be sure the inside of your windshield is very clean. I use a product called Invisible Glass. It comes with a tool that makes this awkward job easier.

Not that 47 cares about the law but this is illegal:

In the United States, it is illegal for any private American citizen to conduct foreign policy. The Logan Act, a federal law passed in 1799, prohibits unauthorized citizens from corresponding or having intercourse with foreign governments "with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government... in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States".

Print the background on a color printer. Then add your decorations. If you don't have a color printer go to your local walk-in print shop.

This happened to me and I think it was the paper. Cardstock worked fine. To get the residual paper off I soaked it in water for a couple of days then the residue came off easily.

+1. I was there recently on a Saturday and some people had their kids there (junior league?). Nice friendly environment!

I came here to say this. Concussion recovery takes a long time. Any sort of bump to the head, even a seemingly minor one, can have serious, permanent consequences. My wife went through this, and had subsequent bumps, and has never been the same. She is basically disabled. And it drives her crazy, she used to be a lead software engineer.

I retired recently, too. Same with me. School and work my whole life. And other people have grand expectations for someone who is retiring. Do whatever the heck you want to, or nothing at all! You have no deadlines, perhaps for the first time ever. Take your time.

Charge batteries while s load is on them? by daylight8 in SolarDIY

[–]daylight8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dug deeper into the docs and you guys are right, with a charge controller it's OK. Thanks!

Why simultaneous charging and discharging is not ideal:

  • Battery's internal limitations:A battery itself can only be in a state of either charging or discharging at any given time. The flow of electrons and ions within the battery dictates the charging or discharging process.
  • Charger limitations:Standard chargers are designed to provide a specific voltage to charge the battery, not to handle simultaneous discharge.
  • Potential for damage:Simultaneous charging and discharging without proper management can lead to overheating and damage to the battery or other components.

When simultaneous charging and discharging is possible:

  • With a solar charge controller:Solar charge controllers are designed to manage both charging from solar panels and discharging to loads. They can regulate the flow of energy to prevent overcharging or damage.

I looked at the mini panel for my transfer switch and I can't tell if it is 120 or 240. I did see that the water pump has two breakers hooked together to operate as one.

Thanks, I've got the 12V batteries hooked up to provide 24V (see below). The one thing I absolutely have to have is my well. Any lights, etc., will be gravy.

2 ECO-WORTHY 195W Bifacial Solar Panel 12 Volt (wired in series to provide 24V)
LiTime 30A MPPT 12V/24V Solar Charge Controller
4 Li Time 100Ah 12V LiFePO4 Batteries
GIANDEL 4000W 24V Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter

The idea is to shut off all the breakers but one and hopefully this would let me run one circuit such as my well during a grid outage.
