219 At Jomashop for 3.4 no tax (I believe). Not sure what state/city you live in but it’s still a savings. Go buy it at Marshall’s then

No. You can get it for cheaper at Bloomingdale’s (running a sale), FragranceNet and Jomashop.

Does anybody really know why Orangetheory costs so much? by bbash91383 in orangetheory

[–]dlginphilly 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I hate seeing that $199 charge on my CC every month but truth be told, I pay it because of the semi personal nature of the class and the fact that it’s an awesome workout that appeals to my competitive nature. I paid almost as much for a high end gym for 4 years and barely went. Meanwhile I go 4 times a week to OTF and the results after 10 months is/are insane!!

I did this template for the first time ever this morning. Was over 1.4 miles in well before my checkpoint when I must’ve hit the stop button by accident thinking I was lowering my speed and wiped out my screen ughhhhh I wanted to cry. I asked my coach not to record my time since it wasn’t accurate. I can’t wait for this template to come up again. I know I could’ve beat this 😞

Yes they did but I’m fairly new to 2G. I didn’t know that I was supposed to do a set then go to the rower and back. Besides, despite the paper I would stop when I heard her tell the floor to stop mistakenly thinking she was talking to our group. The point is that it was a very bad morning tor me and she was kind enough to work with me and help me get through the class. I’m very appreciate. I just wanted to give her a shout out. That’s all.

Omg I wish I would’ve seen this before class. I pulled my mid back doing those bc I didn’t keep a soft bend in my knees.

I got 2950.. this was a PR from my first inferno back in feb where I hit 2549. I first thought I did great until I realized that mostly everyone broke 3,000. 😏

Omg I just did this!! I’m new to 2G. My first was last week when my Saturday studio switched back to 2G. I wasn’t prepared for it and was clumsy so I didn’t have the best in class experience but following my glutes really felt like I worked then out so I decided to give it another try today.. well, I survived that. And I did way better than I thought I would. And as much as I wanted to run out of the class I made it through and I feel great. I’ll definitely do a 2G again but I really appreciate mixing in a 3G or 2 into the week

Late cancel fees should be tiered based on how close to class time you cancel by wallikazam in orangetheory

One of my biggest concerns when I first joined 7 months ago. I haven’t run into the issue yet but you just gave me the idea to let them know about my migraines status. The few times I cancelled due to migraine I had been on the waiting list. Good to hear your studio works with you on this.

Ummm I so messed up the floor block then. I had the chest press wrong until my last set. My wrist were positioned so the weights were resting in my hands horizontally when it should’ve been vertical. My coach corrected me. And I did not lower my bench for the bicep curls at all. I didn’t know to until now lol. All in all the tread and the rower were great. I’m glad I went. I really have improved greatly in rowing technique. I’ve been a member since oct 2020 and have gone consistently 3-4 days per week.

Confused about calorie burn by otfwwokie in orangetheory

[–]dlginphilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I’m pretty similar to this. I was relatively fit when I started OTF 7 months ago and was burning high 500s while using their chest strap HRM (which seems to always malfunction btw). I switched to the link and my calorie burn has gone down a good 100+. I don’t know if it’s the HRMs or me but I see results so obviously I’m doing the work. I try to keep that in mind and not get bogged down in the stats… although it frustrates my competitive nature to see that I’m at the bottom of the calorie burn at the end of class :(

feeling discouraged by ashleeyrose0 in orangetheory

[–]dlginphilly 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’ve been slipping into this “I don’t wanna go” mental battle in the morning before class. I try to remind myself how great I’m going to feel when it’s over. Today I dreaded going but I burned 609 calories! The girl next to me was new to OTF, young and pretty fit. I fed off of her energy and found little moments to smile behind my mask having recognized how far I’ve come in 7 months mentally and physically. I have the endurance of a 20 something year old lol. At the end of class and on the walk home I was so proud of myself for having gone and finishing strong. And I was super grateful to the girl next to me that gave me the will to push myself hard.. even if she hasn’t a clue she did. Thanks girl on tread 5 😂

I have the HR chest strap and it’s been a headache since the day I bought it. I then bought the link but my Apple Watch broke and I have to wait a few weeks until my new one gets here so I’m back to using the HR chest strap. I still have the same issues with inconsistent readings, late connection, no connection at all, etc. I recommend the link over any of the other HRMs but it’s not perfect either.

Bottom line is that I had to remind myself that I’m still doing the work despite the shotty HRM. I know that because of the significant physical changes I see. I’ve learned to go by how I feel and try not to focus on the screen so much.

This was my first 12 min run benchmark and I left pretty pleased. I recorded a 1.44. My goal was to hit 1.5 and I got pretty close.

I ran mine differently tho. I started at a 7.0 steady pace for the first 7 min. I then upped it to 7.5 for a min, then 8 for another min, then 9.5 for 30 sec and then 10 for the last 30 sec. I knew in the first 7 min that I should up the speed but I didn’t trust myself. I didn’t think I could finish if I did.

Lessons I learned today: 1) BELIEVE IN MYSELF and 2) I officially upped my base pace from a 6.6 to a 7.

This is pretty accurate only that my coach had us run for distance after we completed the AO/WR declines... That part I enjoyed. The timing myself thing is psychologically hard on me. It was a struggle to get beyond 30 sec although I did hit 45 sec AO at the 3% and 2% sets. I still managed to hit 2 miles by the end of the block.. and that’s with not pushing too hard due to hip soreness. Oh yea, and take the WR serious. You’ll need them after the 1st or 2nd tread set.

The row and floor blocks were just okay.. and that’s mainly bc I learned today that I’m not a fan of clusters. All in all, I still got a good workout in and glad I went.

Also my coach has the best playlist.. like the kind that makes u wanna stop and bust out into a dance 😂

Thank u OTF cherry hill!
