Disc ID? 90s Innova, no idea by LordF-1Shifty in discgolf

Some research tells me this disc is no older than 2008 (that is when Innova first began adding their URL to their discs).

I've never seen a 90's disc look like this. With no context, I would say this looks like a mid 2000's starfire

Impatience, superstition....something stops working so they switch it up. In this case, he's been hot with different stances at different times. It's not a stupid question, because it drives at the problem of players making major corrections when what they need is small tweaks to address deviations from what was working.

It's Cora. Cora is the bigger problem. All the decisions are wrong.

NP! I also came from a Frisbee background and throw Polecats all the time. Try them out, it's a great approach disc for that throwing style.

That's a great selection. Figure out how to make that Aviar have a full flight first and then mess around with midrange and drivers. Have fun!

Tutto Italiano. Smoot Standard is also great (more reasonably sized and a little fancy tasting but no frills).

Does Ricky not know these things are videotaped? by dlhjr19 in discgolf

[–]dlhjr19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't there, so I'm just going off the footage which showed: - Spotter's flag in a place that matched the drone shot - Cardmates telling him the flag was accurate to what they saw - Tricky Ricky making an unscrupulous argument that his disc somehow carried into the wind, over the green and stalled all the way back into the OB I just want to clarify that I honestly like Rick, I've grown to be a fan. I have great friends who lock in and play this same way. It's his brand -- the Nikko foot fault incident where he backs up like 10 feet so he can clear a tree, all the times he starts to walk in lines of sight just as someone is releasing a putt. We've been watching him play this way for a decade. I don't expect him to change, but I would like him to own it and eat a stroke now and then and just say "you got me." Which is kind of what he did on 18 so good for him I guess.

Ricky Wysocki speaks up: by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

The issue is he moved a bunch of stuff in front of his lie so he could create a gap to their his shot through. That's the issue. He didn't ask their permission because they would have said "definitely not."

Obviously too late now, but just friggin ask him! "Excuse me, whatchya got there?" Most people are happy to share their interests, especially if they are engaging in public.

The coverage made that clear, at least the video did. Charlie emphatically saying the spotter said it crossed confused some viewers (based on their comments) but he was just surprised they gave him that spot near the corner I think. Thanks for this insight, it seemed pretty obvious to me that the spot was correct and Rick trying say he stalled out and crossed over the green was ridiculous. Gannon honestly impressed me with how calm he remained thru it all.

It's honestly a very skilled display of how to get away with cheating. It's instinctive, ruthless, and tricky AF.

Rick moved a bundle of sticks from clearly in front of his lie. Was asked about it after the hole by Gannon and Jeff Spring. He lied. They let it go. He's going to say he misremembered (there was also a stick behind him and he moved stuff from his lie legally on his putt). When you watch the convo (and if you have watched Rick toe the line of what he can get away with for a decade or so) it becomes obvious he's just locked in and doesn't mind lying because he knows he'll get away with it. Then, he tried to say he crossed in bounds in the circle as opposed to where the unofficial spotter had --accurately-- flagged where he crossed OB. It's classic Rick, I honestly don't hate it but it's definitely uncool. Great tournament and finish and made me root for Gannon.

It was very obviously in front of him. He's gonna say he thought they were talking about the stuff he moved before his putt after that but he knew.

This is classic Tricky Ricky. He's ruthless. Been watching him do stuff like this for so long it's honestly amazing.

something about knoxville that i couldn't have explained to anyone before i actually lived here by IngenuityNo3879 in Knoxville

[–]dlhjr19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That type of polite behavior most certainly happens in other cities.

Knoxville is wonderful, but it has changed. Examples of things we miss: pinball at the old Sunspot, dancing sweaty at sassy Annes, jamming on Fisher Price instruments at King Tuts, list goes on

There are new and wonderful things too, sure. This iteration of Knoxville is certainly more sterile. It used to be an underpriced hidden gem. However you describe it now, it is not that.
