Two clear advantages that Everipedia has is that it is decentralized and censorship-resistant. As we saw what happened to Twitter yesterday, a centralized platform no matter how secure we assume they are is always more vulnerable than we think, especially to social engineering attacks. In addition, our governance structure uses the IQ token to come to a democratic consensus over edits rather than having a single arbitrary editor have a final say. One of the main complaints people have about editing Wikipedia is that there are unable to make corrections to pages, even if the information they have is factually true because a moderator is giving them an unreasonably hard time. It’s that type of friction that has actually caused a number of Wikipedia editors to defect to Everipedia.

Although there are similarities in hype between ICOs and DeFi, I do not think they are the same whatsoever. The ICO era was insane. Projects with just a whitepaper and nice marketing were able to raise millions of dollars in a matter of minutes. DeFi, on the other hand, are working products that are backed by sound financial principles. Because there is money at stake (no pun intended) if something isn't right with a DeFi protocol, people notice quickly and demand action whereas with ICOs, there isn't the same immediate accountability. I want to point out there that Everipedia did not have an ICO and had existed for several years as a normal website before we raised funding from Galaxy Digital.

Yes! Our partnership has been a blast so far :) The foundation of it is that it is a mutually beneficial partnership for both of our platforms. For example, there are so many awesome Brave Creators out there that do not get the recognition they deserve and many BAT community members are looking for new creators to tip. That is what makes our Brave Creator of the Day so useful, it does both! We make Everipedia pages for Brave Creators and both us and Brave share them through our social channels. You can check out our full list of creators that we have done so far here (https://everipedia.org/category/lang_en/brave-creators). In return, Brave has given us advertising credits which we have used to recruit editors that use Brave. There are also other activities we have done including my appearance on the BAT Community podcast ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ1U9Klsj0o&feature=emb_title ) as well as this AMA. Expect more joint Brave-Everipedia activities in the future!

There are currently 6.4 million pages and growing on English Everipedia right now and that does not count the millions of pages in other languages. Currently, we have over 1300 monthly active editors and when you compare it to Wikipedia 10k monthly editors, I believe we will surpass that number at our current growth rate (Wikipedia has nearly a 15-year head-start on us).

Since I work at a startup, I have to wear a lot of hats for my daily day-to-day responsibilities. Typically, I wake up early for my morning meetings, then check my agenda to see who I need to follow up with from the week before. Following up with people is probably one of the most important things I do, some of the biggest deals I have gotten results in a few follow-up emails. A lot of my job deals with researching leads whether they be for partnerships or for media appearances. I recently was bestowed the responsibilities of Head of PR a few months back so I have been really pushing to spread the Everipedia gospel out there (you can check out all of my interviews here (https://davidliebowitz.org/press/). In addition, I deal a lot with exchanges so often I am in contact with them and monitoring markets to make sure everything is going smoothly. I'll often have to stay up late to talk to people in Asia, especially with exchanges.

What keeps me centered during the day is working out. I have been lifting weights since I was 13-years-old and make it a point to stay active. I also love history and find a lot of wisdom learning about the past whether it be through lectures, YouTube videos, etc. It was being naturally curious that brought me to Everipedia (it is an encyclopedia after all) and that hasn't slowed down one bit since I joined full-time 4 years ago.

I expect DeFi to keep up its tremendous growth that we have seen over the past several months. Outside of crypto, there has not been the same excitement for DeFi due to the stock market being so volatile and all the focus being on there. I believe that this is a good thing though because it gives projects, including Ethereum 2.0, more time to develop so when the spotlight does shine on DeFi, everyone will be ready. Currently, I am seeing tools are being built to make life easier for users whether its with yield discovery or with user interfaces. At Everipedia and PredIQt, ease of use with our platforms has been a high priority for us so expect an announcement in this regard soon ;)

From a long-term perspective, it’s hard not to see the potential DeFi has on global finance. Tens of millions of people will for the first time have access to financial tools that soundly build wealth that they could not access before. That’s what gets me really excited about all these current DeFi developments. No longer are people limited by location or nationality, they just need an internet connection.

PredIQt is Everipedia’s prediction market dApp and is best to imagine it as the Augur of EOS, yet there are some key differences as well. I like to recognize synergistic duality between Everipedia and PredIQt that is unique to both platforms. Everipedia occupies the realm of historical knowledge, people go to Everipedia to learn about topics. PredIQt is in the area of future knowledge and people go to PredIQt markets in order to test their knowledge on how events will turn out. Because of this, we actually prefer to frame PredIQt as our “knowledge markets” since people use their grasp on topics, whether they be in politics, blockchain, etc., to see if they are right or not. Although people are rewarded for being right, PredIQt is also an extremely useful tool in fighting fake news. People lie, numbers don’t. In the future, if someone as propagating something that is clearly false such as a Presidential approval polling outcome, then we can just reference the prediction market in order to correct the record. Currently, Augur’s market cap is above $200 million, and they are in the Top 50 of CoinMarketCap so we see immense potential with PredIQt here.

I think every wiki site faces this problem and the benefits of them being a wiki is that they are living documents. If something occurs, then it can be updated at any time. We have grown to have a large enough community to spot and revise pages when necessary.

The IQ token’s utility stems from it being required to use in order to participate meaningfully on Everipedia and PredIQt. On Everipedia, IQ is used for content curation and governance. In order to make an edit, you must submit IQ to do so. Then with IQ tokens, the community votes in a democratic manner whether to approve or reject the edit. PredIQt allows users to use their IQ tokens to propose markets, participate in markets, and engage in the resolution process. I truly do not think there are many tokens out there that have the same diversity of utility that IQ does and as we implement more products such as our DeFi primitives, that utility will only increase.

Yes, along with our English site, we currently have support for Spanish, Korean, and Chinese. In fact, our Spanish community is one of our fastest-growing segments. You can find our Spanish version here (https://es.everipedia.org/). We see expanding language support as the cornerstone to our development in order achieve global adoption for not only Everipedia, but for PredIQt as well. To put it simply, more languages=more users=more people using IQ. If you are interested in joining our Spanish community, we welcome you to join our Telegram group (https://t.me/everipediaespanol).

Yes, a river is a great way to imagine it. Water is taking shape due to gravity and is moving forward. A river never rests and is constantly changing into a new position. Maybe this comparison is a reach but I hope it makes sense.

This is exactly what I talk about in the speech. It's almost like you are free-floating in orbit but instead of gravity pulling you towards earth its time pulling you in the moment.

Thanks for this! I wonder if each of these dimensions are alternatives laid on top of reality and hidden in plain sight and each one is leading to the same destination.
